Twenty years in business has taught me that confidence doesn’t come from knowing what’s coming next.

It comes from knowing you’ve built something capable of adapting when it arrives.

I’ve always imagined psyborg® as a vessel in an unpredictable ocean. Over time you strengthen it, refine it and make it more capable … not because you know what the next wave will be, but because history tells you there’ll always be another one.

The GFC. Social media. Covid. Now AI.

Different waves. Same lesson.

The businesses that endure aren’t necessarily the biggest or the smartest. They’re the ones willing to keep rebuilding themselves as the world changes around them.

After 20 years, that’s probably the expertise I trust most.

Adapt or die … sink or swim.

Great to see psyborg® featured in the recent edition of Hunter Business Review.

The editorial captures a moment I’m really proud of … psyborg® winning Excellence in Micro Business at the 2026 Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards for the fourth time. It also tells the bigger story behind the win: 20+ years in business, 3,800+ projects, 445+ clients and more than 31,700 design hours across branding, websites, creative systems, AI education and business evolution.

What I appreciate most is that the article isn’t just about an award. It recognises how psyborg® keeps evolving … from design and digital into AI strategy, business systems, Cortex and helping organisations prepare for real change.

We normally design logos to influence other people.

What happens if you reverse that?

20 years ago I designed a symbol for psyborg® to remind myself to take risks, experiment, embrace technology and remember that life is finite.

It wasn’t really designed for customers.

It was designed to influence my own behaviour.

I’ve started calling this idea The Anti-Logo… branding turned inwards.

External brands shape how others see us. An Anti-Logo shapes how we see ourselves.

I think there’s an interesting intersection here between branding, psychology and behaviour.

A brilliant day at the HCAA Trade Expo in The Rocks, Sydney.

Dan was invited to present 'The AI Paradigm Shift' as part of HCAA’s Digital Engineering session, exploring how AI is changing the way we interact with knowledge, software and eventually the physical systems around us.

One of the bigger ideas we explored was the future of intelligent buildings.

Imagine sensors and connected systems giving a building awareness of how it’s performing … then AI helping engineers interrogate that information through natural language, visualisations and simulations.

In simple terms … talking to the building through its data.

And as those buildings generate more real-world performance knowledge, that information could ultimately help engineers design better buildings in the future.

A big thank you to HCAA for inviting psyborg® to speak, exhibit and take part in the panel discussion.

There were plenty of great conversations throughout the trade show … with Sydney Harbour providing a fairly decent backdrop!
