Continuing on from our WFH conversation last week. Productivity monitoring is one of the greyest areas in modern business: it promises visibility, accountability, and performance insight, but can quickly cross the line into surveillance, mistrust, and culture damage. In this live discussion, we’ll unpack whether businesses should implement staff monitoring tools, where the ethical and legal lines sit, and how leaders can balance productivity with privacy, trust, and respect.

We’ve been a little bit quiet the past few months. The team at EvolveCyber been working on a few new things 🤫🤫.

Can’t divulge too much just yet.

But one thing we can tell you about - our new Fractional AI Officer service rolling out. Still putting the final touches on this. But coming soon. 👀

There is so much potential with AI but many businesses don’t know where to start or what the next step is.

AI is certainly the way of the future. We’ve worked with some of our clients to build some pretty amazing AI enabled stuff with real positive impact.

I was hesitant to post this because of how much AI is hyped and how little substance a lot of the AI hype has.

I am all for meaningful AI solutions that actually solve a problem and help you take your business forward. Not here to sling some licenses and dip.

We are hosting our very first AI Profit, Growth and Scale webinar today at 11:30am AEST. This will give you a little taste of what our Fractional AI service can help you with, but more importantly how to approach implementing AI in your business, and how to actually get real results with AI.

Here’s the link to join: https://tinyurl.com/45dw6j4c

This will be recorded, so if you want the replay, comment REPLAY, and we will DM you the link.

Most healthcare providers don’t realise their most significant cyber risks aren’t technical, they’re operational.

We're hosting a 15-minute briefing during which we will discuss a real Melbourne GP clinic breach and its impacts on the community, explain why cheap IT support alone won’t meet your legal obligations, and discuss how leading providers in 2025 are turning security into a business strength.

Join our CEO, Liam Benson, on Thursday, the 22nd of May at 11:30 am.

🚨 Data Breach Report (June–Dec 2024) 🚨 𝟰 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄

If your business handles sensitive information — whether you're in accounting, healthcare, law, local government, education, or professional services — this matters to you.

The latest report from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner is out. It outlines every reported data breach from June 2024 to December 2024.

While reposting random stats is easy, we understand that this doesn't mean much to anyone. But there is a story behind each of these stats.

Here are 4 insights that stood out to us:

🔍 One lesser-known type of breach is rising rapidly, and few are talking about it
📈 There’s been a steep increase in total breaches, especially among SMEs
🤖 AI is now a weapon in the cybercriminal’s toolkit — and it’s making phishing, scams, and impersonation attacks harder to spot
👥 The biggest threat remains internal, but it’s shifting from accidental to intentional

If you're responsible for customers, compliance, or reputation, it's time to take a closer look.

IT Providers: Before You Fix a Data Breach, Think Twice.

When a cyber-attack occurs, the first instinct is to act fast: shut down the system, lock accounts, and wipe compromised systems. The quicker we neutralize the threat, the better… right?

Not always.

Rushing to "fix it" can sometimes create bigger problems:

⚠️ Wiping systems = Destroying crucial evidence
⚠️ Acting without legal guidance = Potential legal risk
⚠️ Moving too fast—or too slow = Breaking insurance conditions
⚠️ Poor communication = Confusing or contradictory reports to regulators

When the dust settles, the real challenge begins. Regulators, insurers, and legal teams step in—and a well-intentioned IT response can quickly turn into a financial and legal nightmare.

This isn’t about blaming IT teams or service providers—it’s about working smarter. Cyber breaches are more than just technical issues; they have serious legal and financial consequences. That’s why having the right legal guidance in a breach response is as critical as securing the network.

In this clip from The Data Breach Playbook, we explain why slowing down and taking the right steps can protect you and your client.

Featuring Jason Symons (Mills Oakley) and Andrew Brett, CCIS (Infosure).

When a business suffers a cyber incident, most think of data loss or regulatory fines as the biggest threats.

But there’s another risk that kills businesses from the inside—and it often goes unnoticed until it’s too late.

Andrew Brett, CCIS from Infosure breaks down the three major risks businesses face when things go south.

But what's the one silent killer that really flies under the radar?
⚠️ Supplier and commercial risk.

What happens when your biggest client pulls the plug because they no longer trust you or your security?

How do you recover when a breached supplier drags your business into the mess?

Why is this the risk most companies don’t plan for—but should?
