Here at South West Tech, safety isn't something we take lightly 🦺

With Electrical Safety Fortnight running from 1st - 15th September, we have been using it as a chance to refresh a few important skills and keep safety front of mind.

We kicked things off with CPR, LVR and First Aid training at the Charleville Gun Club. A few days later, we enjoyed a well deserved brekkie back at the shed while tuning into an Electrical Safety Toolbox Webinar covering real incidents, practical safety information and the new 2026 electrical regulations.

A big thanks to the Charleville Gun club for letting us use their facilities. Of course, while we had the boys at the Gun Club, we couldn’t let them leave without having a crack at the clay targets!

Last week the team headed out to Jundah to rebuild a failed off-grid system and get it back to doing what an off-grid system should - working reliably.

We don’t just install off-grid systems from scratch. We’re also regularly called in to diagnose, repair and rebuild systems that haven’t quite gone to plan the first time around.

Another remote system sorted and back up and running. 👌

Behind the scenes at Helvetia Park Off-Grid 🎬🎥

A big thanks to Jason from DPA Energy for taking the time to come out and visit us at Helvetia Park. It was great to show him around the project and have a chat about what goes into designing an off-grid system like this.

We talked batteries, system design, the decisions that happen behind the scenes, and most importantly - why we do things the way we do at South West Tech.

For us, off-grid isn’t just about installing enough solar and batteries. It’s about understanding how a property will actually be used and building a system that’s reliable, practical and designed for the long haul.

☀️ Big news for regional businesses and farmers!

The Federal Government has announced plans to expand the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme from 100kW to 1MW. This could reduce the upfront cost of larger commercial and agricultural solar installations by around 20%, making solar far more accessible for farms, workshops, warehouses and other high-energy users.

South West Tech can support customers from start to finish. Assessing energy use, designing the right solar and battery system, handling network applications, installation and ongoing support.

If you have a large roof and a large power bill, now could be the perfect time to explore your options. Contact our team to discuss what the changes may mean for your business.

Three years ago we took a chance on Warrego Motel Charleville.

Since then we’ve worked hard to keep improving the motel and give our guests something a little different every chance we get.

To celebrate our 3rd anniversary, we’ve organised our biggest surprise yet.

It wasn’t allowed to arrive while I’m away on holidays in the USA, but thankfully we were able to delay delivery until I’m back. Now we’re counting down to the first week of November.

We can’t share what it is just yet, but this has been years/months in the making and we’re so excited to finally say we are getting closer.

If this doesn’t put Warrego Motel on everyone’s lips, I honestly don’t know what will.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past three years. Your encouragement has made this journey possible.

November is going to be a month to remember. Stay tuned.

🚨 South West Tech is Hosting an Accredited Training Day! 🚨

South West Tech is hosting an accredited CPR, First Aid and LVR Training Day for anyone looking to gain or renew their qualifications.

These courses are mandatory training for our team, and while we have accredited trainers travelling all the way out to Charleville, we thought we'd open the opportunity up to our local community as well.

Whether you need certification for work, want to refresh your existing qualifications, or simply want the confidence to help in an emergency, we'd love to have you join us.

📅 Date: Friday, 28th August
📍 Location: Charleville Gun Club
🕒 Course Times: 8:30am - 3:30pm (TBC closer to the date)

🩹 First Aid – $80
