Your team is already using AI.
The real question is whether your organisation is managing it or just hoping it’s used responsibly.
AI tools are now part of everyday work. Staff are using them to draft emails, analyse data, write code and accelerate decision making. But without clear guardrails, they can also introduce new risks.
Think about it:
• Are employees entering sensitive information into public AI tools?
• Do you know which AI platforms are being used across your business?
• Is there guidance on what data can and cannot be shared?
• Are outputs being verified before they influence decisions?
AI is powerful, but unmanaged AI creates data leakage, compliance risks and intellectual property exposure.
Forward thinking organisations are starting to implement AI usage policies and governance frameworks to ensure teams can benefit from AI while protecting sensitive information.
The goal is not to restrict innovation.
It is to enable safe and responsible use of the technology your staff are already adopting.
If your team is using AI, and chances are they are, it might be time to ask:
“Do we have a policy for this?”
