This St. Patrick's Day, don't rely on luck to keep you secure online! 🍀

It's not just leprechauns wanting to steal your gold 💰, hackers often use phishing scams to trick you into giving away personal information or money. These are fake emails or texts often pretending to be from organisations you know or trust.

Even the luckiest charms can't protect you from phishing scams, but our advice can help.

🚨 Scam warning: emails (not) from the AFP

The AFP is aware of scam emails circulating that claim to be sent by Commissioner Krissy Barrett and other members of the AFP executive in conjunction with global law enforcement agencies.

These emails warn recipients they’re being investigated for various crimes and may include a fake subpoena or summons.

We will never contact members of the community in this manner. These are scams.

If you have received an email like this, please do not reply to it, open any attachments, or click on any links, as they may be malicious. Report it to police at www.cyber.gov.au/report.
