Petersham Railway Station is being restored. We were commissioned by AJ Bristow Pty Ltd to reproduce the fretwork at the ends of the awning. The only information that we had was a small sepia photo from around 1904. The architects, provided sketches from which we produced the final drawings.
All of the drawings and prototypes had to be approved by The Sydney Trains Heritage Register.
The final fretwork was reproduced in 32mm thick Western Red Cedar. The finished panels were 2030 mm long by 580 mm high.
