AI is making our computers cost more...

Its a simple statement, though the reasoning is maybe not what you'd expect. As big corporations are investing billions of dollars in the servers to run AI en masse, the biggest volume of components that they need are RAM and SSDs.
So all the manufacturers are focusing on fulfilling these needs causing the prices to spike. A 32Gb RAM Module, that we bought last year for $169, currently costs for over $750. SSDs have more than doubled.
In fact one of the biggest brands, Crucial, have closed down their consumer grade manufacturing and focus purely on the high profit, AI products.
The end result is RAM and SSD prices have shot up, making all computers (PC/MAC/Phone/Tablet) all increase in price. Our suppliers believe this wont go away for at least 2 years.

Competition always keeps computer costs down as far as they can go. Though we have to ride out this storm.

Support for Windows 10 runs out in October 2025 and it will no longer be patched for security. This means that every business needs to be running processors that are 9th gen or later (as all 9th gen have TPM2.0 on the chipset), some 8th will work.
If your PC is 7 or more years old, its time to upgrade. If you've got multiple PCs of this vintage, then you have up to 3 Financial Years to spread the cost over, if you act now.

Testing out Starlink and this is just an amazing leap into the future. The tech behind aligning the satellites and determining obstructions is amazing.
Getting over 200Mbps from these satellites, with relative ease of setup is just outstanding 😃

Did you know that WiFi is not an acronym? It doesn't actually stand for anything.
Most people, being used to "HiFi" from the 80s and 90s, assume it stands for Wireless Fidelity, which is not even a real term.
Wi-Fi, simply is a name, associated with our past, that made an easy link for people when it first came out.

Happy 2023 Everyone!!!

This year brings some big changes to our company and what we can now offer to our clients.

We've also had some bookkeeping and bank changes. Remember to never accept a banking change from an email, it is one of the most common scams out there today. Please always make the phone call, to make sure its correct.

If you believe the information is true, please still open your browser and open you banking yourself.
Every scam trick they have tried in email, is now being done in SMS

Hacking attempts are now so common, we are now numb to it. Look at any Hotmail, Google, Yahoo account any you will likely see 10s or 100s of attempts to hack your account everyday.
The bigger the business, the bigger the target and the bigger the transaction value, the bigger the target.

One very easy thing most small businesses can do to have a HUGE impact in the security of their cloud presence is GEOLOCKING. Dont allow anyone located outside of Australian IP addresses to log in.

Sure you have to open it up a little when you go on holidays, though the long term security impact is worth it 🤖
