ATTENTION!!: BE CAREFUL THIS CHRISTMAS.

Don't fall victim to one of the many scams going around during the festive season. Here are 2 popular scams that you may be targeted with this festive season.

Banking Scam
Australians and the big four banks are receiving an influx of scam messages and calls coming into the back end of the year, with a rise of 17% of scam calls out fo the 32 million customer interactions Westpac recorded during the Black Friday Special.

Westpac fraud prevention manager Chris Whittingham implores Australians to not answer ANY bank related phone calls or click ANY links sent to you as the bank will NEVER ask for that personal information over the phone.

Aus post/Startrack Scam
This scam has much more prevalent since the Black Friday Sales.
Australians are receiving text messages and/or emails advising them that their "Delivery/Package" is ready for delivery. All they want you to do is click the link below to track its progress.
That link will generally then re-direct you to a page where they ask for either your proof of Identity or Bank details.

If you are unfortunate enough to be caught out with one of these scams, contact your financial institution IMMEDIATELY, email [email protected] or call iDCare on 1800 595 160.

The cloud has some negative connotations around it and has had some very negative press with leaks and "losing" of information.
