ASGA - Australian Sign & Graphics Association The Australian Sign & Graphics Association is the peak body representing Signmakers, Sign Installers

For over forty years, the Australian Sign & Graphics Association has been the representative body for the sign and graphics industry in Australia. It covers the whole spectrum of signmakers, sign installers, signwriters, graphic designers, sign educators and apprentices, as well as sign industry suppliers. The ASGA encourages the highest standards from its members and seeks to enhance the professi

onalism within the industry. It believes its policy of quality and commitment to the customer is not only in the best interest of its members, but also provides a safeguard for their clients. The Association provides its members with continued support and technical information through sourcing significant benefits for them. The ASGA has been a leader in helping to reshape educational training courses and to encourage sign industry educational training centres around Australia. The ASGA promotes the Letterheads movement, values its involvement in Sign Industry EXPO’s throughout Australia, hosts National Conferences with the Visual Industry Suppliers Association (VISA), and liaises closely with the New Zealand Sign and Display Association (NZSDA). The ASGA members and their clients are offered a nationwide professional sign service that is guaranteed, so that corporate clients can be assured of a high standard of craftsmanship throughout the country.

In a culmination of work by ASGA over the past 3 years, we are now working closely with BuildSkills, the Federal government's national Jobs and Skills Council for the built environment, and with training organisations and RTOs, to help find solutions to the workforce challenges facing our sector. This partnership will focus on the updating of the current Certificate 3 in Signwriting / Sign Making. This important government - industry - training partnership approach is already delivering some important outcomes, shaping the content and structure of training for our industry to ensure you can find the people you need, with the skills you need, in an ever-evolving technological landscape. Next Wednesday 2 September, come along to our stand I13 at at Visual Impact Expo for an informative session with ASGA and BuildSkills on the progress made so far...and where it's going in future.

ASGA has some exciting plans for Visual Impact Expo, with FOUR separate events running on the ASGA Stand I13 from 2-4 September at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park. These include:
• The Future of Apprenticeship Education - an update presented by BuildSkills and ASGA at 2:00PM Wednesday
• Meet the Signage Installers - an informal ‘meet and greet’ session over drinks at 4-6:00PM on Wednesday
• ISA Signage Education Short Courses - an introduction on the fantastic opportunities available to ASGA Members, and
• Signage Building Licensing Explained - making the seemingly complex simple, with Charl Taylor from CI Advantage
