1. Communications Cabler
(Data, voice, and structured cabling infrastructure)
Structured data cabling (Cat6, Cat6A)
Fibre optic cabling (single-mode & multi-mode)
Communications racks and cabinets
Patch panels and outlets
MDF / IDF fit-outs
Telecommunications pathways and containment
Testing, certification, and labelling
Compliance with ACMA cabling standards
2. Electronic Security – Alarm, Access Control & CCTV
(Life safety, property protection, and monitoring systems)
Intruder alarm systems
Motion sensors, reed switches, and detectors
Access control systems (card, fob, keypad, biometric)
Door hardware integration (strikes, mag locks)
CCTV cameras (IP and analogue)
NVR/DVR installation and configuration
Video intercom systems
Security system networking and PoE switching
Monitoring interfaces and integrations
System commissioning and client training
3. Audio Visual
(Presentation, collaboration, and media systems)
Commercial display installation (LED, LCD, video walls)
Projectors and projection screens
Audio systems (speakers, amplifiers, DSPs)
Microphones (wired & wireless)
Video conferencing systems (Teams, Zoom, Meet)
Control systems and touch panels
AV racks and equipment housing
HDMI, HDBaseT, and AV-over-IP cabling
System programming, calibration, and handover
About the role:
As a Technician at Jendata, you’ll be responsible for the installation, testing, and maintenance of the above three systems applying across commercial, industrial, and government projects.
You’ll work both independently and as part of a tight-knit team, ensuring all work meets Jendata’s standards for quality, safety, and compliance.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
Reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and job documentation
Installing and terminating of various hardware cabling
Testing, fault finding, and documenting network infrastructure
Working closely with project managers, clients, and other trades
Ensuring WHS, site, and company procedures are followed
What we are looking for:
To succeed in this role, you’ll ideally have:
Previous experience in areas listed above.
A current ACMA Open Cabler Registration with relevant endorsements (Copper, Fibre, Coax)
A valid driver’s licence and white card.
Ability to assess and implement industry standards and testing procedures.
Ability to read and interpret plans and network schematics.
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
A willingness to travel for regional small works when required, (Available for discussion)
Highly regarded but not essential:
Experience with Fluke DSX Tester, Copper, OLTS & OTDR.
Working at Heights or EWP tickets.
Class 2 security installers licence.
Electrical Licence.
