I use AI every day. Not to design for me, and definitely not to do the hard-thinky-things. But I absolutely love it to help clear the stuff that gets in the way of me doing the actual creative work.
Proposals. Brief summaries. Turning one post into five. Call prep. Meeting notes. Code customisation. Brainstorming. Organising my social content. Organising my files. Organising my Notion...and well just about everything!
All those bits that need to get done, but really don't need all of my creative brain!
I feel like this is what a lot of design and marketing teams get wrong about it. They reach for AI to do the work that matters, the things that really need their creative input, or years of experience for strategy. I’m not saying you can’t use AI as a part of these type of tasks, but it requires a lot more input and hard rules to get quality results.
More importantly, AI is just so much better at doing the low yield, repetitive, admin type work. Those pieces that sit between having a plan and you actually getting it done!
Strategy, creativity, experience etc… should all remain a part of what your brain does.
