You don’t have to compromise on sound if you need it to be blue.

This pair of blue stained American Oak Superwax Mini’s recently made their way to their new owner in the USA.

With every pair made to order, we can accommodate custom finishes beyond the existing lineup of veneers and tints.

There’s no short cut to excellence. Here’s a few photos from our recent collab with , helping further enhance the experience at their flagship whisky and cocktail bar right here in Hobart, Tasmania.

We take the time to understand our clients requirements and the venue, ensuring every solution delivers maximum value.

Our systems aren’t mass-produced, and they aren’t the cheapest option on the market. But when you combine professional acoustic assessment with high performance components and tailored design, they’re often far more cost-effective than many commercial offerings.

Better still, we can deliver complex projects from concept to handover within weeks - don’t assume just because we’re small we aren’t nimble! We can’t wait to share these results with you.

Sherry cocktails & vinyl 🍸

When the guys from Caretaker’s Cottage got in touch about their new space, Three Horses, we knew something special was on the cards and started a discussion about a bespoke system just for them.

One idea kept resurfacing throughout the design process: continuing the tradition of putting unapologetically large loudspeakers into intimate hospitality spaces. Some of our favourite venues share this quality — a sense that the sound system is part of the architecture, not something hidden away.

The expansive bar demanded loudspeakers with wide horizontal dispersion, and plenty of low frequency performance because we know they like to boogie. The 3-way design we came up with riffs off of the shape of the bar, featuring two 12” low frequency drivers flanking a 10” mid, and a rectangular profiled constant directivity waveguide. Finished in walnut-veneered birch plywood, and powered by 750W of Pascal amplification and DSP.

To fill in the room, we introduced a new product to cover the front and rear zones — an application it was seemingly made for. More on that soon.

And congrats are in order…Three Horses has recently been nominated in the 2026 Spirited Awards as one of the Top 10 Best New International Cocktail Bars! Well deserved guys.

Our speakers promote being turned up, but when you run out of output capacity more needs to be added.

We’ve said this before, our speakers don’t require a sub, until you take them to the next level with higher intensities of music playback.
ma requested a high output sub system to take his pair of Superwax Mini’s to the next level. By taking some load off of the Mini’s in the bass department (using a custom filter) their ability to play loud really becomes apparent.

These custom 18-inch reflex subwoofers have extremely large high flow bass ports and modern high excursion bass drivers, wrapped in a cabinet cut from the same cloth as the core lineup. The double flared rear port arrangement allow for the driver to breathe free of unwanted turbulence and distortion, allowing for clean, effortless reproduction at very lowest of frequencies, even when the driver is on tilt.

Earlier this year we promised we’d share a bit more about what’s happening at Pitt & Giblin. Each of these projects deserves its own blog post (in progress) but for now here’s the highlights.

We’ve been working with local and international clients on a range of projects from commercial fit outs to bespoke designs.

Making interesting things keeps the progression moving and hones our craft.

The goal is to concentrate on scaling our core lineup as well as branching out on projects that keep us engaged in design and the shared enjoyment of music.

There’s a couple of technicians in the sound tent, optimising, tweaking, and sharing their experience. For everyone else it’s about the shared enjoyment of music. Perfect. For the first time in a long time we went back to our roots last weekend and fired up the big system at the local brewery. There’s lots of bespoke sound systems out there, but few that run live bands. Our experience in this space has guided the development of a range of conceptual products that have become fully functioning prototypes, providing valuable insight into the design and the operation of these systems - that then influence the products we manufacture for use in (typically) less demanding environments. Our Exhibition series optimises for consistency of coverage across the audience area, and reduction of back wash towards the stage - improving GBF and separation. In these 68’s we employ dual 18” mid-bass drivers in a reactive cardiod cabinet, flanking a very large 80x40 waveguide loaded with the highest performance midrange and high frequency drivers money can buy. The flown mains provide superb coverage by height, and by not using subs as risers a horizontal bass array can be deployed across the front of stage - vastly improving the consistency of bass coverage. We ran a physical arced sub array with delayed outer cabinets to increase spread, powered by approximately 30kW of amps. Plus six of our monitors on stage for a total of 26 processed amplifier channels. Good fun. Big thanks to Brendon and Nicko from BVAV for joining us with the mad lighting rig!

We’ve got this running joke that goes something like ‘if you don’t want to see the photos, make sure Jack takes them’ - and given you haven’t heard from us (since April last year) I was tempted to announce that he had taken over the Instagram. I could have gotten away with it, surely, but this is a rare case of no news is good news. We’ve just been doing it… lots of it. With almost a year worth of content there’s a bit of a backlog to get you up to speed, nothing tooooo crazy though, just more speakers. Maybe a couple of Negroni’s. For clarity .gibson.photo took these photos.
