The Crusher Plant Precinct - Stage 1 of Hornsby Park is now open! The park represents one of Sydney’s most notable parkland transformations, and a landmark adaptive reuse project, reshaping a former quarry into 60 hectares of public space.
JDA was engaged to deliver a complete interpretive signage solution for the precinct – spanning concept, design, copywriting, illustration, fabrication, and installation management.
Grounded in firsthand quarryman accounts and geological insight, the outcome translates complex industrial and environmental narratives into a bold, durable, and place-responsive visitor experience. The material palette and multi-layered, laser cut Corten steel illustrative graphics, reference from the site’s industrial heritage and geological character, creating a tactile and visually striking interpretive feature.
The result is a cohesive storytelling system that connects visitors to both the human and geological history of the site.
