The trade businesses hitting $100K weeks aren’t just hoping the phone rings.

They know where their leads come from.

They know what each booked job costs.

And they know which Google Ads are generating actual revenue.

When your Google Ads connect with platforms like simPRO, ServiceM8, ServiceTitan, Tradify or AroFlo, you can track the entire journey from the first click through to the booked and completed job.

That’s true ROI.

Growth isn’t about spending more money on random marketing.

It’s about connecting your website, Google Ads, CRM and job management software so you can see what’s working and confidently invest more into it.

If your trade business is already doing $200K+ per month and you’re ready to scale, TradiesGO can build the system behind your next stage of growth.

🚨 PLUMBERS: I wouldn’t spend more on Google Ads yet.

If you’re running a plumbing business and spending thousands every month on Google Ads, but you’re not booking enough profitable plumbing jobs, I wouldn’t immediately blame the ads.
I’d look at what happens after the click.
Because your Google Ads might actually be doing their job.

Someone searches:

“plumber near me”
“emergency plumber”
“blocked drain plumber”

“hot water plumber”

They see your plumbing ad.

They click.

They land on your website.
But then what?

If your website looks like every other plumbing company…

“Quality plumbing.”
“Reliable service.”
“Call us today.”

…why should they choose you?

If I’m the customer and I’ve got three plumbers open on my phone, but none of them gives me a clear reason to choose them, what am I going to compare?

Price.

That’s why I don’t just look at cost per click or how many plumbing leads your Google Ads generated.

I want to know:
👉 How many leads turned into booked plumbing jobs?
👉 Which services generated the best jobs?
👉 What did it cost to acquire an actual customer?
👉 And are those jobs profitable?

Because more plumbing leads won’t fix a weak offer.

Before you increase your Google Ads budget, search one of the plumbing keywords you’re paying for.

Open your landing page.

Then ask yourself:

“If I needed a plumber right now, why would I choose us over the other three?”

If the answer isn’t obvious within a few seconds, I’d fix that before spending another dollar trying to drive more traffic.

Google Ads for reporting shouldn’t be about clicks, impressions and CTR.

Those numbers have their place — but they’re not what keeps the lights on.

At TradiesGO, when we run Google Ads campaigns for plumbers, electricians and reactive trade businesses, we focus our reporting on the numbers that actually matter:

🔧 How many leads did we generate?
📞 How many turned into booked jobs?
💰 How much revenue did those jobs produce?
📈 What was the return on the advertising investment?

Because 500 clicks means very little if none of them turn into paying customers.

Where possible, we track leads all the way from the Google search → phone call or enquiry → booked job → actual revenue.

That gives both TradiesGO and the business owner a much clearer picture of campaign performance.

More importantly, it creates accountability on both sides.

At the beginning of a campaign, we agree on the goal.

Then we work towards it together.

Our responsibility is to generate the right opportunities at an efficient cost.

The trade business also has a role to play — answering the phone, following up quickly, quoting effectively and converting those opportunities into jobs.

When everyone can see the same numbers, the conversation changes.

Instead of:

“Your impressions are up 32%.”

It becomes:

“We generated 47 leads, 21 became jobs, and those jobs produced $XX,### in revenue.”

That’s the kind of marketing reporting business owners can actually use to make decisions.

Less vanity metrics. More leads, jobs and revenue.

That’s how we approach Google Ads at TradiesGO.

⚡ SPENDING MONEY ON GOOGLE ADS BUT NOT GETTING ENOUGH ELECTRICAL ENQUIRIES?

Before you blame Google, take a look at where you’re sending the traffic.

We see electrical contractors spending thousands every month driving potential customers to websites that simply aren’t built to convert.

Too many options.
Too much noise.
No clear next step.

And every potential customer who clicks away is money you’ve already spent.

You might not need more traffic.

You might need to stop losing the leads you’re already paying for.

If you’re running a growing electrical business and want to know where your marketing is leaking leads, book a Marketing Clarity Call with me - Ryan @ TradiesGO.

I’ll help you identify what’s not working and what to fix first.

⚡ Electricians doing $2M+ a year…

There’s a big difference between getting your business in front of more people and getting it in front of the right people at the right time.

That’s where a lot of electrical businesses get their marketing wrong.

Someone scrolling Facebook might need an electrician next month.

Or next year.

Or not at all.

But someone searching Google for:

⚡ Electrician near me
⚡ Emergency electrician
⚡ Switchboard upgrade
⚡ EV charger installation
⚡ Commercial electrician

…has a completely different level of intent.

They’re looking for someone now.

That’s why we believe Google should be one of the first channels established electrical businesses look at when there’s existing demand for their services.

But simply throwing money at Google Ads isn’t the answer either.

Your targeting needs to be right.

Your keywords need to be right.

Your offer needs to be right.

Your website needs to convert.

And your team needs a system to follow up and turn those enquiries into booked jobs.

Otherwise, you’re just paying Google for clicks.

At TradiesGO, we help established electrical businesses work out where the gaps are in their marketing and which channels actually make sense for the customers they want to attract.

If you’re spending money on marketing but not getting enough quality enquiries, book a Marketing Clarity Call with us.

We’ll look at your Google Ads, Meta Ads, website, follow-up and conversion process to identify what’s holding you back.

Then we’ll give you a clear plan around the right channels for your target market, so you know where to focus your time and marketing budget to generate better opportunities.

Stop spending money just getting seen.

Start getting seen by people who are ready to buy.

After working with electricians, plumbers, builders, painters, landscapers, HVAC companies and other trade businesses across Australia, there are a few marketing opinions I’m not changing.

1️⃣ Funny memes don’t build trust.
Sure, they might get likes, comments and shares.
But if your Facebook and Instagram pages are 90% jokes and 10% actual work...
How is a homeowner, builder or facility manager supposed to know you’re the best person for the job?
Show your projects.
Show your team.
Show your process.
Show your results.
Humour has its place, but your content should constantly reinforce why someone should trust your business with their money.

2️⃣ Google Ads is the #1 marketing channel for trade businesses.
I don’t care if you’re an electrician, plumber, air conditioning installer, concreter, builder or landscaper.
When someone searches “emergency electrician near me” or “hot water plumber” they already have intent.
They’re not scrolling for entertainment.
They’re looking for someone to solve their problem.
For most trade businesses, Google Ads reaches buyers at the exact moment they’re ready to enquire.

3️⃣ Your existing database is probably your biggest missed opportunity.
Most trade businesses spend thousands generating leads.....then never contact those people again.
No follow-up emails.
No SMS campaigns.
No maintenance reminders.
No seasonal offers.
No referral requests.
Your past customers have already trusted you once.
Staying in front of them is one of the cheapest and highest ROI marketing activities you can do.
Marketing isn’t about chasing the next lead.
It’s about building systems that generate revenue today and continue generating revenue tomorrow.

Agree? Disagree?

The best trade businesses don’t grow because they’re lucky.

They grow because they know their numbers.

They know exactly where every lead came from.
They know how many enquiries turned into quotes.
They know which quotes became jobs.
They know the average value of those jobs.
And most importantly…

They know what it cost to win them.

Too many trade businesses celebrate getting 100 leads.

Who cares?

I’d rather have 20 leads that turn into $500,000 worth of work than 100 tyre kickers wasting my team’s time.

That’s why we obsess over tracking.

When your website, Google Ads, CRM, call tracking and job management software all talk to each other, you stop guessing.

You can see exactly:

✔️ Which suburb is producing your best clients.
✔️ Which keyword generated the enquiry.
✔️ Which campaign turned into a signed job.
✔️ What your true cost per job is.
✔️ Which marketing is actually making you money.

That’s how real businesses scale.

Not by spending more.

By making smarter decisions with better data.

If you can’t measure it, you can’t improve it.

And if you can’t improve it, you’ll always be relying on gut feel instead of facts.

The businesses doing $200k+ months don’t guess.

They track everything.

🏁 Your marketing isn’t losing because it’s slow… it’s because you’re on the wrong tyres.

Imagine turning up to Bathurst on wet tyres… on a dry track.

You can have the best driver.
The best car.
The biggest budget.

But if you’ve picked the wrong setup, you’re getting overtaken before Turn 1.

That’s exactly what we see with trade businesses every week.

Electricians, plumbers, builders and HVAC companies are told they “need SEO” because everyone says it’s the right thing to do.

Sometimes it is.

But if your phone needs to ring this month, SEO is often like building a race car for next season while your competitors are already taking the green flag.

Google Ads is different.

You’re putting your business in front of people actively searching for:
✔️ Emergency electrician
✔️ Hot water plumber
✔️ Air conditioning installation
✔️ Switchboard upgrade
✔️ Blocked drain
✔️ Commercial electrical contractor

These aren’t people scrolling social media.

They’re already looking for someone to hire.

Now here’s where most agencies get it wrong…

This isn’t an argument about SEO vs Google Ads.

It’s about choosing the right channel for your business goals.

If you’re an established trade business wanting immediate enquiries, Google Ads is usually the fastest way to generate qualified leads.

If you’re building a long-term marketing asset, SEO should absolutely be part of the strategy.

The biggest mistake?
Starting with the channel you want instead of the channel your business actually needs.

At TradiesGO, we don’t sell you SEO because it’s trendy.
We don’t sell you Google Ads because it’s profitable for us.

We recommend the marketing strategy that gives you the best chance of hitting your revenue goals—and then we track every lead and every sale so you know exactly what’s working.

Because at the end of the day…

🏆 Pole position doesn’t matter.

The only thing that matters is crossing the finish line with more money in the bank.
