There are many things that Ai is good at!!! Customer service is not one of those!

We have the ability to build a chat bot! I built one three years ago. While it was a fun experience in coding … you will never see it!

While an Ai chat bot may be good at referring people to the help articles … they lack one big thing . Human interaction!!

There are times that customers just want to be heard!! They want someone to listen. And yes this does mean that poor customer service agents will have to endure some really angry or unhinged stories from customers …… but they can also be that moment that will make someone’s day just a little bit better!! Maybe it’s just a little tiny bit.. but it’s still an improvement.

The best AI who solved a problem will still leave the customer angry . And sometimes feeling worse even after getting their way.

A human with genuine empathy and honestly tries to help but unable to do so due to policy, warranty or unreasonable customer expectations, will at least make the customer feel heard !! (Or at least has a chance. 01% is better than 0%)
