Alright, I’ll play along, here are some of my best marks from over the years for
Collating these marks brought back some serious memories. Each mark is not just a logo, it’s symbol of growth, learning and progression from where I started as a bright eyed and bushy tailed design student. Behind each of these logos lies a story, a branding project that presented challenges, hurdles and successes, all of which resulted in lessons learned. To me they now proudly symbolise how I’ve grown as both a designer and business owner. Here’s to many more logos, mistakes, successes and lessons in the future 🤙🏼

Has the rebrand era gone too far, or are we just emotionally attached to the old logos?

Jaguar deleted their entire social media history and launched a campaign with zero cars in it. 8 months later the CEO resigned following extreme backlash and declining sales. A brand that forgot who they were in pursuit of who they thought they should become.

A rebrand shouldn’t wipe the slate clean. It should evolve what already exists, carefully, strategically and with total respect for what makes the brand iconic & recognisable in the first place.

The best rebrands feel inevitable. The worst ones feel soulless and only the name was left behind.

Most branding projects are built around three core pillars.

Brand Strategy: The foundation. The thinking that gives every design and communication decision its purpose. Without it, everything that follows is just decoration.

Visual Identity: the translation of strategy into something people can see, feel and remember. Logo, colour palette, typography, graphic devices. The visual language that communicates who you are without saying a word.

Verbal Identity: how your brand sounds. Tone of voice, messaging pillars, brand story. As distinct and considered as how it looks.

Together these three things form a complete brand. A business that invests in all three has a real and lasting advantage over one that skips straight to the visuals and hopes for the best.

This is the framework behind every project we take on.
