For our comeback show a few weeks back, I put together an animated loop for each track in the setlist.
This one’s for “I Miss You Before Time”, one of two tracks I released last year after a 5 year hiatus. I pulled art and animations I had used in the MV I directed last year for it.
I wrote the song as a warning to anyone facing incoming grief over loss. If you know you are losing someone permanently - love them right now and don’t linger.
All those years ago, due to cultural issues and my own naivety didn’t have the luxury of diving headfirst into spending what I would deem now as the right amount of time with my Ba Noi before she was swiftly and aggressively taken by cancer. I dawdled, I obeyed and now I suffer (life is full of suffering though, right Buddha? Lmao).
The imagery features the grind and noise that gets in the way of what needs to be done, the hands that hammer the nail on your forced ascension to success(?) F**k all of that for now so you can grant the most precious resource to your loved ones: time ⏰.
Don’t miss them before their time comes, miss them after.
