Do you know the parts of one cable?

Cables have characteristic structures, each layer on the conductors has a specific function such as supporting the voltage (insulation), mechanically protecting the cable (inner sheath), ensuring electromagnetic compatibility by avoiding internal or external interference (in case they have metallic screen), anti-termites (anti-termite layer) and/or simply giving it greater mechanical protection (extruded bedding).

On the cable industry we use drums to package the cable inside and dispatch it to the customer. Depending on our customer requirements, our drums can be wooden made, wood with plywood or pure steel. Being all of them certified to prevent damages on our cable.

Besides, the wide range of drum sizes, allow our customers to decide according to their different needs. Our drums can reach figures of up to 4000x1300x1900x2200mm. These big sized drums allow an easy dispatch and facilitates the cable installation. In addition, if customers prefer it, we offer the possibility of sending back the drums to us, instead to leave it on the project place.

Finally, we know how difficult handling drums manually can become and the harm risk, so we have done a thorough risk assessment, thus making a workbook of instructions, preventing possible drawbacks to the installation team as well as the product.

Ojas Infrastructure was awarded a contract by Adani Renewable to supply the entire cable package (AC 33kV, DC U/G, Earth, LV, DC Strings & OFC) for the Rugby Run Solar Farm in 2018.

In addition to celebrating the second anniversary of this solar farm, the team is ecstatic with Rugby Run being the top performing solar assets in QLD. The quality of Ojas products is reflected on the data published by Rystad Energy - this project with rotating panels has been operating with a capacity factor of 29.3%.

The Adani Solar plant of 300 MV in Queensland, is already providing 185,000 MWh of renewable energy – enough to power the equivalent of 23,000 homes and businesses each year – and has the capacity to double its output to 170MW.

Melbourne Airport Solar Farm is one of our customers.
We are supplying all the strings/harnesses for this project of 12MW, that will deliver around 17GWh of electricity each year.
They trust in our locally designed strings, which we manufacture in our facilities in Melbourne.

We are proud to be part of one of the biggest 'behind-the-meter' projects in Australia, which will provide cheap green reliable electricity to power directly the airports terminals.
