Pay it forward day at IE!

The wonderful Naomi, Ines, and Stephanie have been cooking up a storm in the IE kitchen to provide food, assisting the The Humble Mission charity!

The charity seeks to create a sense of belonging and community for the homeless, disadvantaged, and rough sleepers around the Melbourne CBD. If you would like to get involved or donate you can head to their website here: https://www.thehumblemission.com/

We are so proud of our team members for using IE’s Pay it Forward Day. This leave benefit allows the use of a day's paid leave to volunteer and support a charity or community cause of their choosing.

Congratulations Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and IE's Paul Richard Hamshere (presenter) on running an excellent Hyrbid event today!

After a tough couple of years for the events industry, it was great to be back in person (and online) sharing insights and inspiration.

It was wonderful to hear some of the following thought leadership from key industry leaders.

MCEC Chief Executive Peter King shared his passion for events, their return and the ability MCEC has in leading hybrid events of the future.

Lisa McInnes-Smith CSP, CPAE inspired the audience on opening our minds to learning new things and how to build high-performing teams through communication.

Branding visionary Rich Curtis FutureBrand CEO shared his thoughts on inclusivity and connection through digital events.

And IE's Commercial Product Principal Paul Richard Hamshere emphasised that success in the hybrid events space relies on technology capability and having a digital manager to bring it all together.

It has been a challenge over the last year and a half to nurture a feeling of connectedness. At IE, as part of our culture, we have implemented lots of strategies to stay connected and enjoy each other's company online. An office favourite is our donut and coffee catch-ups, no prizes for guessing why! We used the Donut Slack app to run a coffee lottery and randomly connect three team members for a catch-up each fortnight so we can meet people from across the business. During lockdown, we're always at home, but never alone. How have you and your team kept in touch and connected throughout the last year and a half?
