We’re getting close to the one year anniversary of mutual aid mates and apologies for been so slack with posting but what a year it has been! Despite a lot of time spent offline, we have had pretty great momentum over the last 12 months. Even though the cost of breathing keeps going up, we still have a really solid flow of donations coming in, although there has been an understandable dip lately. But what’s not dipping is the constant need, and I want to emphasise that this fund is a lifeline for so many communities and individuals all around the globe. These funds pay for housing, groceries, transport, and basic survival needs. It pays for emergency hospital visits in the middle of the night, has wound up in the hands of people fleeing massacres, and so many other unimaginable situations we can’t begin to describe. We’re calling on everyone to set up a transfer of just 1% of their disposable income every week, that could be $1 $5 $10. Or if you’re in a more fortunate position, you may want to send a large sum and know your chunk of $$ is being redistributed and will impact so many different people.
