Windows 10 is reaching near its end of life on the 14th of October, 2025.

What does this mean?

As with previous operating systems that have lost support from Microsoft, your device will be vulnerable to viruses, lose accessibility to certain online sites and your applications may no longer operate or update.

Not all devices support Windows 11!

If your device is older than 2017 it won't be supported, but if it was purchased in 2017 onwards then it may be compatible for the upgrade to windows 11, please call us to find out if your device is compatible.

What can you do if your device is older than 2017?

The best way moving forward if your device is not supported is to purchase a new device, whether this be a new laptop or desktop computer, we've got you covered, we also have refurbished options available.

SCAM WARNING - READ BELOW - SHARE WITH FRIENDS
There is a phone text message scam being sent to Australian numbers, ProTechnologies has noticed it is being sent to all individuals on all mobile providers and both iOS and Android. Our recommendation is to DELETE and BLOCK these messages as soon as they appear, clicking the link can lead to damages to your device and can compromise the security of your passwords and personal information.

What to look out for:
- SPELLING ERRORS - Multiple spelling errors of basic words are used to bypass phone/provider filters, your provider or a government service would not do this.
- NONSENSICAL/LONG URLS - If you read the link you can see they often direct to a completely unrelated site or service.
- RANDOM NUMBER(S) - The messages come from random mobile numbers, not your providers voicemail service or a titled business/agency.

There's not much that can be done to stop all these messages coming to your device due to the nature of the systems behind the scam, we'd recommend deleting and blocking the senders and letting as many people know about the scam as possible.

Q - Does the 15km rule apply to drop off/pick up a device?
A - No, under the circumstance that we are either your closest essential IT service provider AND/OR we are the only closest essential IT service provider that can provide your specified service. This DOES NOT allow you to browse other shops in the area or travel to the area for anything other than the 5 essential reasons to leave home. ProTechnologies PTY LTD is not liable for any infringements or fines due to disregard of this rule.
