Get • I was on this morning discussing a post by Boost Juice founder .allis that went viral after Tuesday’s federal budget, and the comments said it all.
So many people were saying “she’s just complaining because she’s rich and she’s going to get taxed more.”
And that is completely missing the point.
Your favourite café. Your kids’ swimming school. Your tradie. Your local gym. These are all small business owners who borrowed against their homes, poured in their savings, and backed themselves, so you could have those services, and so other Australians could have jobs.
They skip their own super. They pay everyone else first. They carry the risk every single day.
And now? When they finally go to sell that business, the government is removing the 50% capital gains tax discount. After all of that sacrifice, they take more of your reward too.
When we kill the incentive to build a business in Australia, we don’t just hurt entrepreneurs. We hurt jobs. We hurt innovation. We hurt every Australian who relies on that small business ecosystem every day.
This affects ALL of us. Please share this with someone who needs to hear it. 👇
💡 Are you a small business owner? Drop a 🙋 below and tell me, how many years did it take before you paid yourself a proper wage?
Let’s show people what this journey really looks like.
