Recent cybersecurity data shows that PDF files make up nearly 58% of phishing attachments in 2025.

Cyber criminals use PDFs because they appear trustworthy. Inside the document you might find:

✔ E-Signature Requests
✔ Fake invoices
✔ “Secure document” links
✔ Login pages designed to steal your Microsoft 365 or email credentials

The key thing to remember is that the danger is usually the link inside the PDF, not the file itself.

Before opening or clicking anything, ask yourself:

✔ Were you expecting this document?
✔ Do you recognise the sender?
✔ Does the email create urgency or pressure you to act quickly?

When in doubt, pause and verify with the sender first.
