We’re aware of the upcoming changes to sleepovers in the SCHADS Award, taking effect from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 June 2026.

Our team has been actively reviewing the Fair Work guidance and preparing the necessary updates to support these changes.

We’re pleased to share that we are on track to implement our solution from 1 June, helping providers stay aligned with the updated requirements around sleepover rostering, ordinary hours, rest breaks, shift allowances and penalty rates.

Staying compliant. Supporting providers. Ready for change.

Major NDIS reforms have been announced, with significant implications for providers across the sector.

The proposed changes include mandatory registration for higher-risk supports, tighter eligibility and planning rules, changes to social and community participation budgets, new commissioning arrangements for intermediaries and SIL, digital payment reforms, and a broader shift toward stronger regulation, oversight, and market stewardship.
One of the biggest changes for providers is the planned expansion of mandatory registration. Minister Butler said the Government expects around 90% of providers to be registered under the new system, compared with an estimated 6% currently. This will build on the existing move to register SIL and Platform Providers from 1 July, with broader expansion expected from July 2027 and full implementation by the end of 2030.

At CareMaster, we understand that reforms like these create uncertainty, but they also highlight the importance of having the right systems, advice, and support in place. Our team is already across the announced changes and ready to help providers understand what’s ahead, strengthen compliance, and prepare for the transition with confidence.
We’ll continue to monitor developments closely and share clear, practical updates as more detail becomes available.

Staying compliant with the SCHADS Award doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

For many NDIS providers, managing pay rates, penalties, allowances, and ever-changing regulations can quickly become complex—and risky if mistakes happen. The reality is, manual processes and disconnected systems often lead to errors, inefficiencies, and compliance stress.

The right software changes everything.

With automated award interpretation, integrated payroll, and real-time updates aligned with Fair Work requirements, providers can:
✅ Reduce compliance risk
✅ Ensure accurate staff pay and entitlements
✅ Save hours on admin every week
✅ Focus more on delivering quality care

SCHADS compliance is not just about ticking boxes—it’s about protecting your team, your participants, and your business.

When purpose and budget clash, which gives way?

Across the disability sector, providers are under real financial and operational pressure. The 2025 State of the Disability Sector Report highlights the strain, the bigger risk isn’t just funding.

It’s what gets sacrificed when margins tighten: workforce development, innovation, quality improvement… purpose itself.

Sustainability and participant-centred care shouldn’t compete. They must work together.

At CareMaster, we help providers strengthen compliance, improve operational efficiency, and build governance frameworks that protect both financial resilience and service quality.

If your organisation is feeling the tension between mission and margin, it’s time for a smarter approach.
