Australia-Argentina AgTech Platform Pilot Project
The Joint Australia-Argentina AgTech Platform Pilot Project was able to establish a practical, model AgTech project involving collaboration between a selected group of leading Australian and Argentine AgTech providers and at least two significant farm operations.
Pilot project leaders Aglive (Australia) and Digirodeo (Argentina) collaborated on the provision of an interoperable, open platform to capture block-chain secured on-farm and supply chain data. At the same time, other AgTech services providers engaged from each country to provide a balanced range of innovative and productivity-focused services to the selected farms. Services were focused on innovative solutions including but not limited to satellite-based precision farming data and analysis, advanced farm certification for sustainability and database-connected dosing guns.
During the project, farm managers were provided with the platform and a ‘suite’ of leading AgTech services with the potential to benefit a typical farming operation.
The final goal of the project was to develop a ‘proof of concept’ report on the project outcomes and, based on that report, identify possible pathways for greater collaboration and the potential operational and productivity benefits of open integration of AgTech services.
Outside the scope of the pilot project, collaborative partners undertook promotional activities to raise awareness of Australian and Argentine AgTech capability working with our respective Embassies, agricultural industry representative bodies and relevant AgTech industry groups that will continue beyond the grant period.
The coordinator for the Australian team was Peter Rennert (Director – Americas Markets, AgLive) and the coordinator for the Argentine team was Lucas Amadeo (Operations Manager for LATAM).
