Located along the coastline of the Bellarine Peninsula, the colour palette of Blue Sky Brewing Co has been strategically chosen to reflect the smoothing energy of its geological location.

Inspired by the surrounding landscape of the water and land, the logo design has been hand illustrated to be clear and distinctive while evoke a sense of calm and friendliness to build trust and reliability within the community.

The elements within the design specifically reflect the ingredients within; water, malt, yeast and hops. The arrows depict a compass (a symbol of guidance and direction), which was traditionally used for early navigators to find their way at sea.

The arrows also reflect back to the layered meaning of the company name, ‘Blue Sky’, in part reminding one to give space for imagination, to be a curious, open-minded, creative thinker who is free to navigate the journey of their life.

Blue is often used in a variety of brand logos and identities due to its common associations with harmony, faithfulness, security and reliability.

Inspired from the origins of the saying, ‘blue sky thinking’, this logo design encourages you to challenge expectations, traditional processes and methods of thinking.

Where community, flavour and culture come to life. This branding was created to honour the passion and tradition behind brewing, blending it with a modern rustic twist of hand drawn elements and custom typography.

The typography aims to evoke a sense of comfort, familiarity and spark inspiration within the community. By choosing a clean, playful and casual typeface, the brand is more approachable and friendly, building trust, reliability and loyalty.

Every time we move our hands, we are connecting with the world around us. Babies get to know the world through their touch.

Hands can tell more about our lives than any other part of the body. They can show the small details of what we have lived and how we choose to live.

Everything made by hand is made with the heart.

Hands heal pain. Hands support those we love. Hands to hold. Hands to comfort. Hands to communicate. They connect us, ground us, allow us to emotionally feel through physical touch and connection.

Move your hands with love, start creating with them from the heart and everything in you will move.

How does communication influence your life?

Design is more than creating an artwork which is ‘pretty to look at’. (There are way too many connotations connected to that saying).

To me, design at its very core is communication and behaviour. It represents the past, present and future, and so much more.

What does communication mean to you? How do you communicate with the people around you? Why is communication important in your life?

Communication is the exchange of thoughts, ideas and opinions. Sender and receiver. Sharing information. A purpose to build understanding. To understand, you must listen.

How do you listen? Why do you listen? To learn, to respond, or other? Would you consider yourself a good listener?

We communicate through the spoken languages, written words, visual symbols/ signs and behaviour.

When you are crafting a design, whether it a branding identity, logo, artwork, etc, you are communicating an intention with yourself and others. What do you want to say? Who are you talking to? In what way do you want to help others?

To me, communication at its depth is strongly influenced by mindfulness and gratitude practices.

Clear, honest and true communication forms strong bonds of trust, resulting in strong and lasting relationships. This creates spaces where you feel safe and secure, which forms intimacy, builds integrity, respect, gives us hope, confidence, compassion, and improves decision-making.

Stronger and deeper connections with ourselves, our loved ones, and those in our community increases our sense of worth, purpose, belonging, happiness, helps us cope with stress better, give more positive perceptions, enhance self-esteem and lead to a higher well-being.

One of the most beautiful aspects of life is change. A lifelong evolving relationship with ourselves and with the world around us. Siting in space and reflecting within. How concepts may begin as small seeds, you don’t know where it may lead and then all of a sudden you can finally see its final form taking shape. Thank you to everyone who participated in our drawing exercise. I truly appreciate the conversations I shared with you. I hope you all found something special in the moment you held.

Introducing our new weekly reflection notepad.

This notepad includes our designs of confidence, self-love, gratitude and feelings. With one focus per week, you are able to deep dive into different aspects and receive all four per month. This notepad assists you in building a deeper connection with yourself. It allows you to reflect within and aims to assist you in building your metacognitive awareness. It helps you to acknowledge your emotions and reframe your thoughts, which can directly impact your mood.

This notepad hopes to assist you in building a better understanding of you, so you may live a life aligned with your goals and true to who you are.
