All good ideas were born in a pub!

Big ideas call for some big signage and the Gateway team were busy today installing a new banner at Ineos Grenadier Perth.

Over a drink at the Grenadier pub in London, INEOS Founder and Chairman, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, decided to build a 4X4 that could do the jobs the modern SUV had forgotten how to do. Amongst friends, he scribbled his idea on the nearest thing he could find. And to this day, you can find the note stapled to the ceiling inside the very pub in which the Grenadier was conceived!

After a relaxed morning soaking up the coastal charm of Bremer Bay we enjoyed more delights of the turquoise coast at the Bremer Bay Brewery where we got a chance to swap stories from the road so far and add to the fundraising tally with an entertaining auction.

Back on the highway and the next chapter of the adventure begins as we head down the country road to Katanning.

Our final night together and a chance to reflect and celebrate the memories made and incredible effort by all of the participants to help make a difference to the lives of children across WA.

We were thrilled to be awarded the joint highest fundraising award, yeehaw 🤠.

What a way to finish off a wonderful day!

🚘 D A Y 2 🚘

Today we roll out of Walpole and head East along one of the South coast’s most beautiful and scenic stretches.

Our first special stop was at Denmark Primary school where we were met with some very excited kids.

One of the most rewarding parts about being involed with the Variety - the Children's Charity WA Creative Car Cruise is the chance to stop in local communities and see firsthand the difference our fundraising makes.

From here we continued on to Mt Barker for lunch at the delicious Henderson & Hwang to refuel, refresh and relax before heading off on our final afternoon stretch to Bremer Bay Caravan Park and a “Blue” night theme to round off another great day on the road!

🚘 D A Y 1 🚘

Day 1 on the Variety - the Children's Charity WA Creative Car Cruise took us from the coastal calm of Vasse, heading south through beautiful farmland and towering forests into Karri country and arriving in the magnificent town of Walpole for the night.

We were super proud to be recognised as one of the Top 5 fundraisers for the 3rd year in a row.

A special stop at Cowaramup Primary school along the way was also a special highlight presenting a check for $6000 to help fund new equipment to support inclusion education, independence, and joy for the kids.

Not to forget we also enjoyed a couple of bevy’s at Ampersand Estate Winery for lunch 🥗 🍷and refueling.

And we’re off! Let’s go 2026 ✨
