Hello. Today is Severe M.E. Day, which is an awful, tragic thing, but a thing those of us more fortunate should spare a moment to think on. The guys at Severe M.E. Day Australia are doing some great work to raise awareness and visibility around this condition, and I put together a quick logo to help them out with their website launch.
M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) or C.F.S. (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) as it's also known, is one of the roughest gigs you can imagine. Severe M.E. Day, is for the 25% of people who suffer from M.E., and have an exceptionally bad version of this condition. How bad you say? Really really bad. Trust me.
When researching for this project, I came across this quote, which absolutely knocked my socks off, and put it in perspective:
"An M.E. patient feels effectively the same every day as an AIDS patient feels two weeks before death."
Mark Loveless, Infectious Disease Specialist.
So lets spare a moment to think about these poor folks, and lets let them know that whilst they might be unseen, they won't be forgotten.
