The WA Dennis Moore Oration & 1962 Awards pay tribute to Professor Dennis Moore AM — a visionary who laid the foundations for Western Australia’s computing journey, defined by curiosity, innovation and impact.

His leadership continued as the inaugural chair of the WA Computer Society, Director of WA’s first computing centre, Executive Director of Government Computing, and foundation Head of the School of Computing at Curtin University.

To honour his legacy, the ACS WA recognises outstanding students who embody his pioneering spirit through the annual Dennis Moore Oration & 1962 Awards.

Sustainability is more than the impact on the planet, its ensuring a future that prolongs and supports the people and resources that fuel it. At WA Tech Summit we will be looking at sustainability through both a business and environmental lens in our Sustainability through Technology stream.

The stream will include Luke Nowak discussing the challenges and opportunities for using tech across regional and remote locations in Australia. Using his own role as program manager at WATCO Rail as an example of the importance of utilising the latest tech for efficiency and sustainability especially for hard to reach communities.

Join us at WA Tech Summit for an innovative discussion on sustainability that encompasses more than the planet but the people, and tech, that drives it - https://bit.ly/4cq6UbH
