With constant information about how to parent, my art sits as a reminder to trust your intuition and to feel confident in your parenting decisions 🤍🤍🤍

Bringing intention and love to this journey that can be so demanding although so rewarding.

Through my work, I want to encourage mothers to be intentionally present, not perfect 🧡

Meet Steph 🤍

First-time mum at 40 to little Poppy, who is 12 weeks old. And honestly? Every time I talk to her about this season of her life, I end up in tears.

She speaks about motherhood with such love, such depth, such grace. Swipe through to read her words, I think you’ll feel it too.

In Her Words 🤍

This week I’m sharing a conversation with one of the most quietly beautiful women I know, my dear friend Robin Alexander

Robin and I met as colleagues lecturing in fashion design at TAFE back in 2009, and in 2016 we had our first born boys within months of each other. She is soft, warm, deeply nurturing, and has a way of weaving creativity and nature into the everyday life she’s built with her husband Darren and their two children, Hux (9) and Indi (7).

Robin’s reflections on becoming a mother are full of honesty and grace. She speaks about the disbelief and joy of meeting her son for the first time, the emotional preparation no one warned her about, and the lifelong practice of slowing down, letting go of perfection, and learning to be still.

The full conversation is live on the blog now. Link in bio.

With so much love, Kirst x

This week on In Her Words, I’m sharing a conversation with one of my dearest friends, Gemma Willing.

We met at school all those years ago, then reconnected as new mums by complete chance, when our daughters (born days apart) ended up in the same pre-kindy gymnastics class. Since then, Gem has welcomed her beautiful boy Bruce, and when writing this was mothering both her babies from a little life in Karuizawa, Japan.

She speaks here with so much honesty, about a traumatic first birth, losing her Dad when Coco was only 8 months old, the lonely nights, the soft joy of being undone, and the quiet rituals that ground her now.

Swipe through for some of her most beautiful reflections, and read the full conversation on the journal. Link in bio.

With love, Kirst 🧡🧡🧡
