AML Tranche 2 isn’t just about ticking a compliance box.

It’s about proving your firm can identify, assess and manage risk properly.

For Partners, CIOs and leaders in gatekeeper professions, the expectations are changing. Basic ID checks and manual processes are no longer enough.

Firms need to be ready for:
✅ Stronger client due diligence
✅ Ongoing monitoring of suspicious activity
✅ Clearer visibility over client and business risk
✅ Staff who know how to recognise red flags

Because AML risk is not just a technology issue. It’s a people, process and governance issue.

That’s why Tranche 2 needs to be treated as a board-level priority, not something left until the last minute.

To help firms prepare, we’ve put together a practical AML Tranche 2 Preparation Guide, including a checklist designed for legal firms and CIOs navigating the new requirements.

Your employees aren’t trying to put your organisation at risk.

But sometimes, risk starts with convenience.

❗A free PDF converter.
❗A personal cloud drive.
❗An unapproved app that helps someone get work done faster.

On their own, these tools might seem harmless. But across an organisation, they can create serious blind spots. That’s the problem with Shadow IT.

If your business doesn’t know what tools are being used, it can’t properly secure them, manage access, protect data, or control costs. And the answer isn’t to lock everything down.

It’s about giving your people the right tools, making them easy to access, and having visibility over what’s actually being used across your environment.

We’ve broken down the real risks of Shadow IT, and how Australian organisations can start regaining control, in our latest guide.

Copilot can save teams hours every week, but only if people know how to use it properly.

In our recent hands-on Copilot Workshop, we explored why prompting shouldn’t be treated as a one-off task, but as a skill teams can build.

Small changes in how you structure a prompt can make a big difference to the quality of the output.

We covered four simple foundations:
✅ Start with a clear goal
✅ Give Copilot the right context
✅ Point it to the right source
✅ Be clear about what you want back

Through live examples, we showed how better prompts can help turn messy email threads into clear summaries, create useful meeting recaps, and improve outputs through simple follow-up prompts.

The key takeaway? Copilot works best when people work with it intentionally.

If you want to get more consistent, reliable value from Copilot, the full webinar is now available on demand.

🔇 One cut cable. Total silence.

Is your business ready?

The Optus outages were a wake‑up call.

Comms infrastructure isn’t just a utility anymore, it’s a single point of failure.
When phones go dark, you lose more than connectivity:
trust, visibility and control.

In 2026, resilience is a governance priority.

That’s why more organisations are moving to UCaaS, cloud‑based comms that stay live even when the office doesn’t.

✅ Less single‑carrier risk
✅ Business continuity anywhere
✅ Secure access during disruption
Infrastructure shouldn’t be a gamble.

When does "Legacy" IT stop being a tool and start becoming a $75,000-a-year liability?

For AFS Logistics, rapid growth from 60 to 160+ staff meant their aging infrastructure was no longer an asset, it was a bottleneck. They didn’t just need a hardware refresh; they needed to eliminate the "Legacy Drag" inflating their costs and security risks.

We re-engineered their digital backbone, shifting them from reactive firefighting to proactive resilience:

💰 $75k Annual OpEx Saved: By eliminating aging hardware and optimising licenses.

🛡️ 100% Cloud-Based: A high-uptime architecture built for the modern supply chain.

📈 Fleet-Speed Scaling: A digital environment that grows as fast as the business.

"We are completely off-prem now, we operate in the cloud. Whether KMTech is managing the app or system or not, they are always willing to help troubleshoot."

– Andre Silva, Head of Technology at AFS.

Recently, Kaine Mathrick Tech hosted Cyber Resilience at the Board Level.

A leadership breakfast bringing together directors, CEOs and senior executives to examine how boards should approach cyber risk, resilience and executive decision‑making.

The session was led by Bradley Kaine, Scott Mathrick, and Allan Briggs, and centred on the reality that cyber resilience is no longer a technical discussion, it’s a governance responsibility.

Across the conversation, we explored:
1️⃣ Why cyber incidents must be treated as board‑level events, not IT issues
2️⃣ How executive judgement is tested during live incidents and high‑pressure scenarios
3️⃣ What boards need to understand about Essential Eight, supplier risk and cyber insurance

What stood out most was the quality of discussion, practical, candid, and grounded in real leadership experience.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such an engaging and thoughtful discussion.

For councils, progress doesn’t usually come from big transformation programs.

It comes from removing the everyday friction that slows work, without increasing risk.

Across local government, delays often build up quietly through manual processes and workarounds. At the same time, councils have to work within strict expectations around records, privacy, and auditability. 🔐

That’s why the most effective improvements balance efficiency and control.

This is how we work with local governments at Kaine Mathrick Tech:

✔️Supporting practical improvements
✔️Working within existing, approved environments

Is AI driving your business growth, or just adding complexity? 🤖

In 2026, AI-enabled Customer Experience isn't just a trend; it’s a growth lever for Australian businesses. It’s about delivering better insights, more consistency, and smarter engagement at scale.

We're seeing local organisations leverage AI to achieve:
✅ Higher customer satisfaction
✅ Meaningful productivity gains
✅ Revenue lift through personalisation

But which platform is right for you? With Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude all in the mix, the ROI and governance trade-offs are significant.

At KMTech, we focus on practical, secure AI implementation that scales responsibly.

🤝 More GameChangers = more support for our partners

We’re excited to welcome Ben Ellenport, Patrick Bourke and Ali Kulmiye to the KMTech team 👋

Each of them joins a different part of the business, but with a shared focus:
supporting Australian organisations with secure, reliable technology they can genuinely rely on.

At KMTech, our cyber‑first approach isn’t just about platforms and tools,
it’s about the people behind them.

By continuing to invest in skilled, values‑aligned team members, we’re strengthening the way we:

1️⃣Protect our partners
2️⃣Support day‑to‑day operations
3️⃣Help organisations operate with confidence

With Ben, Ali and Patrick on board, we’re not just growing our team, we’re expanding the capability behind the technology our partners rely on.

Maturity Level 2 isn’t best practice anymore. It’s the minimum.

As ACSC lifts expectations for 2026, many organisations are slipping, not from neglect, but because security maturity drifts as the business scales.

🔐 50% of cyber incidents are preventable. Not with more tools, but by controlling the basics.

What we see most often:
• Controls exist, but aren’t enforced
• Ownership is unclear
• Security sits outside day‑to‑day operations

That’s why Essential Eight maturity isn’t a checklist. It’s an operating discipline.

Quick reality check:
ML1: Baseline protection
ML2: Minimum commercial standard (insurance, supply chain, 2026+)
ML3: High‑target resilience

The gap isn’t intent. It’s consistency and repeatability.

If you had to evidence your maturity tomorrow, would it hold up? Find out: https://ap1.hubs.ly/y0NKMp0
