π¨ SCAM ALERT π¨
please keep an eye out for a new scam targeting Telstra customers. Iβve attached a screenshot of a fake email going around
The email claims that your "Telstra ID has changed" and pressures you to click a link to accept revised terms and conditions, threatening that your services might be suspended if you don't.
How to spot the red flags in this specific email:
The Sender Address: It comes from a strange, non-official looking address
Fake Urgency: It demands action on the exact same day the email was sent (June 22, 2026) to create panic.
Generic Greeting: It addresses you as "Our Esteemed User" instead of using your actual name.
The Sign-off: It's signed by the "Webmail Team," which isn't how Telstra addresses their ID or account management services.
What to do:
If you receive an email like the one shown above DO NOT click any links and do not reply. Delete it immediately. If you are ever worried about your account status, log in directly through the official My Telstra app or website - never through a link in an unexpected email.
Stay safe online! Please feel free to share this to protect others. ππ»
