Denon DJ's roots lay way back in 1910 Japan, as part of Nippon Chikuonki Shokai (Japan Recorders Corporation) - who's name was original Nippon 'DENki ONkyo Kabushikigaisha' (DEN-ON). In 1947, Nippon Columbia merged with Japan Denki Onkyo. In 1993 the first DJ products rolled out of Denon's production lines - the world's first twin deck DJ CD player (DN-200F) as well as the world's only twin MiniDi

sc DJ player. At this time, Denon was the industry standard DJ players in DJ booths, alongside Technics SL-1200 turntables. was created when Denon Ltd and Marantz Japan Inc. In 2014, Denon DJ (along with Denon Professional and Marantz Professional) were acquired by inMusic (Akai Pro, Numark, Alesis, Marq - and later, Rane). inMusic is a privately-owned American company who's roots date back to 1971 when Numark was first launched. In 2017, the "new" Denon DJ stamped it's mark on the DJ world when they introduced the new Prime series. SC5000 Prime media player, X1800 Prime DJ mixer and VL12 Prime analog turntable.
