Sometimes it’s a bit of luck, not only the knowledge. We had an enquiry for a Naim Audio NAC 32.5 and NAP 110, where one channel was not working. These units were originally released in the 80s, 40 years ago.

Over the phone, we narrowed down the potential cause to pre-amp's phono boards. This unit uses circuit boards that can be removed and replaced to support a moving magnet or moving coil cartridge. If only the 40+ year old unit still had replacement phono boards in production.

We had a deep dig into our ‘box’ of Naim spares and found a brand new set of factory-matching phono boards. This system is back with the owner, joining the many olive and chrome bumper Naim units that are still being enjoyed.

What number of versions and variants is too many? We have four copies of Norah Jones' Come Away With Me. CD and LP of the 20th Anniversary release, and another two that has had countless in-store listens.

Our excuse - a copy in each listening room. Valid? You can judge.

Recently unboxed - the IOTA II from Neat Acoustics. This tiny speaker does the impossible, building on the original IOTA with new refinements bringing improved bass extension and massive scale.

Right out of the box, we were once again impressed by the big sound from this tiny speaker and the musicality to back it up. The IOTA II will be a great match for a range of setups - an office system to one that will blend seamlessly with your living space.

I asked Harry why Naim Audio's 332 pre-amplifier, Naim's 'new era in sound' and the culmination of 50 years of Naim and was positioned like this. Every answer would be incorrect.

After the release of the "giant-killing little [bookshelf] speaker" - the Petite Classic, Neat Acoustics found it appropriate to revive the Elite, a model last in production in 2016.

Like the Petite Classic, the new version of the Elite retains the outer dimensions of the original model, but with updated drive units and a completely redesigned crossover. Designed to work well in smaller listening spaces, this latest design brings a full-range performance without dominating the living room.

A rare event for us. All 3 generations of Naim Audio's Supernait in excellent pre-loved condition are with us in Pyrmont. Which generation is the best? We can't say, each has its own strengths.

Supernait 1 - Built-in DAC, meaning digital inputs for a CD transport or TV
