Here's a great way to bring life back into an old laptop.
Replace the HDD with a SSD and install Linux.
Linux is a free open source operating system that runs up to date software for emails & browsing the internet.
Not only is Linux very light on memory it's more secure and for the most part does not get targeted by viruses.

Here is a good example of what can happen if you dont clean out/service your computer/laptop.

The heatsink can become caked over with a solid layer of dust preventing the fan from cooling the heatsink. The heatsink distributes and cools the heat produced by the CPU. THE CPU runs the computer like our brain runs our body. Electricity is it's food & this is what heats up the computer. If the cpu gets too hot all sorts of overheating problems occur, such as Shortening of life expectancy of the hardware, crashing/freezing, CPU thermal throttle which will slow the computer down to a crawl. All not great things.

Always love cleaning out the dust it's very satisfying.

If your computer is running slow or getting hot, cleaning out the inside of the computer can really help it run better and prolong its life.
