After 40 wonderful years the doors closed for the final time today. It only seems like yesterday that we first opened. What a journey it’s been!

As I step into retirement, I want to take a moment to say thank you.

To my incredible staff - past and present - thank you. I couldn’t have done it without your hard work, loyalty and dedication. You helped build something truly special.

To our customers - your support over the years has meant so much. Thank you for trusting us, growing with us and being part of our story.

I’m incredibly proud of the business we’ve built together - it has been a big chapter of my life. Now, it’s time for me to put my feet up and enjoy the next one!

Thank you for the memories,
Terry

Update from Karina. . .

56 days since the accident.

This week brought a pretty big moment, Paul managed to stand 15% upright for the first time since it all happened.
Might not sound like much, but honestly… it’s huge. 🙌

He’s started doing a few small exercises with his left leg (the one that’s healed best), and the brace on his right leg is finally allowed to be unlocked.
His wrists are still a hard no, and the right leg is a bloody mess, but progress is progress.

Another shift this week, as of Tuesday, no more sling/hoist lifts. He’s now using a stand-up lifter instead.

The fatigue has well and truly hit, mentally, physically, emotionally. We’re tired!!

If all goes to plan, he’ll be heading to rehab in the next couple of weeks, and we’re hoping he’ll be home by Spring. 🤞🏻

An update from Karina. . .

Pleased to say we officially surpassed our unwritten goal of $14000. Thank you to everyone whi donated liked ot shared. . .

Day 47. Month 2.
Not in ICU. Not in trauma.
Now in a ward, resting, healing, managing pain.

Still non-weight-bearing. Still recovering from multiple fractures.
Still needing hoist lifts. He can’t move on his own at all.
Not much physio yet. No major milestones, but his wrist cast came off Friday, and that felt like a big step. They’ve started a couple of small wrist exercises, nothing major, but it’s something.

All of his time is spent in bed or the recliner. It’s all he can do right now.
Toileting, showering, dressing, all need support.

Some energy returns in short bursts, but the fatigue is still real.
We’ve made two lifelong friends already, and we’re becoming pretty good friends with the amazing nursing staff too, and we’re so grateful for their kindness and care.

Month 2 has been slow, quiet, and heavy.
But we’re still here.
And somehow, he’s still the favourite patient , cracking a smile (and a few cheeky jokes) when he can.
