Working from home? Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a must! MFA requires two or more verification methods to access your accounts, such as a password and a code sent to your phone.

With cyber threats on the rise, MFA adds an extra layer of security, ensuring your data remains protected even if your password is compromised. Don’t rely on passwords alone – enhance your security with MFA.

Stay secure, stay protected!

The global IT outage that hit around 3PM Friday afternoon continues to cause challenges for many businesses.

Be assured that this does not appear to be a cyber attack of any kind, this is a software update from a 3rd Party Security Provider affecting Windows Computers running this software (Crowd Strike).

Wyntec customer systems are not directly affected by this as we do use the 3rd Party tool as part of our services. We do understand that some of your cloud platforms are affected.

Keep in contact with the Wybtec team and we can provide updates as we get them for any platforms that are having issues.

As tax season approaches, be vigilant against impersonation scams targeting individuals and businesses. Criminals pose as the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) or MyGov, exploiting the end of the financial year to deceive you.

🔍 Common Scams:
Tax advice scams: fraudsters offer fake assistance on social media.
Tax refund scams: scammers claim you’re owed a refund and ask for personal details.
Tax owed scams: threats of legal action for alleged unpaid taxes.
TFN and ABN scams: fake websites steal your information and money.

💡 Stay Safe:
1. Verify unsolicited contacts.
2. Use registered tax agents.
3. Avoid clicking on suspicious links.
4. Contact the ATO directly for verification.

Stay informed and secure this tax season.

With tax time around the corner, cybercriminals are on the prowl. At Wyntec, we want to help keep your business secure. Here’s how you can strengthen defences against tax-centric cyber threats:

1. Check email addresses: watch for misspellings or unusual characters.
2. Beware generic greetings: ‘Dear Customer’ + urgent actions = phishing!
3. Verify contact info: if unsure, start a new email to respond.
4. No sensitive info via email: Use phone calls for private details.
5. Avoid unexpected links: log in via official websites only.
6. Skip unfamiliar attachments: don’t open unexpected files.
7. Use filters: enable phishing and spam filters on your email.

💡 Stay vigilant this tax season and keep your data safe!
