I came across a story this week about a 102-year-old man still helping people with their computers… and honestly, I love everything about it.

Dean Simes only got his first computer this century, and now he’s become the go-to person in his community for tech support, helping others understand something that many still find overwhelming.

There’s something really powerful in that.

Not just the longevity… but the mindset.

A genuine curiosity to keep learning.
A willingness to stay relevant.
And a desire to help others, person to person, not just point them to a help article and move on.

That’s the kind of approach I admire.

It’s also exactly why I love what I do.

Coaching business owners to streamline their processes, systemise the moving parts, and actually use the tools available to them properly… not just have them sitting there unused or half set up, presuming someone in the business is using things efficiently and with ease.

Because when someone understands how to use their systems well, everything changes.
Less overwhelm. More clarity. Better results.

And ideally, with a bit of fun along the way too.

I hope I’m still learning, adapting and sharing what I know well into my later years.

Because if a 102-year-old can stay curious, helpful and across technology…

How many times have we heard of the dire need of support for those caring for loved ones during vital health journeys and the lack of resources to do it.

And yet often there is help available, just a lack of knowing where to look or who has capacity.

A wonderful provider in this space is the lovely Lisa Kimmett who is the founder of The Carers Project.
They supports carers, families and loved ones navigating ageing, the care system, dementia, and chronic health journeys with emotional support, guidance, and education.

It's always surprising when I see this email from Google.

It's their regulary summary of results from reviews I've done; over 30,000 total views of reviews I've done. This image has the most recently visited cafe showcased - shout out to Cotton Tree Beach Bar :)

It's surprising how much of a difference it can make to take the time to leave reviews for businesses that you have dealt with.

I try my best to do this regularly; I even have a system to help me remember to do it.

Because let's be honest, we all '𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱' to do it, even taking photos of fab meals or venues or products, but it's very easy to get distracted or busy and not get around to it.

I would encourage anyone who's had fab service from a business recently to take a moment to pause, reflect and share the love with a Google Review for them, because you never know how much of a difference this makes to not just the business you review, but those that use reviews to guide their purchase decisions.

The message is clear but delivered with humour, my favourite!

Seriously though, 2FA is essential these days to help protect your logins.

Yes it is inconventient, because we all have to log into so much stuff these days and so many times.
We also have less a lot less patience for logging in too.

However, it's a lot less inconvenient than the alternative.

So, stop reading this post or searching for the odd letter sequence from the AFP repost and set up 2FA on your key accounts.

Oh and no clicking 'Remember this device for # days' or you've just defeated the purpose.
