Logmaster Australia

Logmaster Australia Logmaster is an easier, more helpful way to meet logbook requirements for heavy vehicle drivers.

Logmaster is a technology company that provides compliance tools and systems for Australian transport businesses. Logmaster’s first product was an electronic work diary for professional drivers. The current Logmaster system is accredited by the NHVR and compliant to use in all states at territories of Australia. The Logmaster Australia mobile app is approved for use on all Android and Apple smartp

hones and tablets running recent and current software. (Android 7+ and iOS 13+ to be exact) The Logmaster app removes the need to carry a paper work diary and allows operational efficiencies in transmitting driver compliance information to company record keepers in real-time.

🎉 Logmaster turns 4 yrs old today🎉
Four years sounds like a short amount of time.
But when we started looking at what those four years actually achieved, the numbers made us think.

- Tens of thousands of drivers.
- Thousands of transport businesses and operations improved.
- More than 100,000 paper work diaries potentially replaced.
- Millions of hours of heavy vehicle work and rest records moved from paper into a smarter digital environment.

Technology that has evolved far beyond simply replacing a paper diary...
We are incredibly proud of what the team has built but none of this happens in isolation.

It happens because customers trusted us.
Drivers adopted something new and different.
Industry partners backed what we were trying to achieve.
And a great group of people kept pushing Logmaster forward.

So rather than just making another birthday cake, we thought we'd show you what four years of Logmaster looks like to us.

To our customers, drivers, partners, team and everyone who has supported us along the way, thank you!

Logmaster Australia has achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for the Information Security Management System supporting our SaaS compliance platform for the heavy transport industry.
It is a formal recognition that our information security controls, risk management, supplier oversight, access controls and continual improvement processes have been independently audited.
For transport operators relying on Logmaster for EWD, fatigue and compliance records, this is another step in making sure the systems behind the work are managed properly.

This weekend at Truckfest, Logmaster sponsored the Sydney Truck Show’s first-ever Logbook Throwing Competition 🏆

And what unfolded was something between elite sport and a kind of unspoken protest.

Not polite lobs. Not half-hearted flicks. These were committed, full-bodied launches — hips turning, shoulders driving, eyes locked on the horizon. Sydney’s finest looked like they were trying to send those diaries into orbit 🚀

Here we have the winning throw — and it’s epic 🎥💥

We thought it would be a bit of fun. What we didn’t expect was how clearly the sentiment would reveal itself.

There was real commitment in those throws. Not just athletic — expressive. The kind of effort that tells you exactly how someone might have been feeling about a thing for years.

Sometimes that feeling comes out as a logbook flying 40 metres across a field 💨

The event somehow became more than the sport. Watching it unfold — the precision, the power, the unmistakable intent — was both surprising and delightful. At times, it was almost graceful.

Transport managers — the day will come when whoever has been holding things back with old ideas sees the light and your company goes digital.

When that happens, your team might feel inspired to run an event like this.

One detail: probably don’t use real logbooks 😅

If you want replicas that really fly, ask the Truckfest team — they’ve clearly figured it out.

Logmaster is dedicated to the athletes 💪

Special thanks to Sydney TruckFest , Brendon Ryan, Bruce Gunter, Meg Becker and the Copy Southbound Podcast team for putting on an event that genuinely reflects the culture of this industry 🙌
Andy Hintz from Geotab, Leading Edge — thanks for the support on the day. Aaron, The Typical Trucker Thank you for hosting!

🚛 Our MD Josh officially got his HR licence 🚛
Not because he’s planning on jumping in the drivers seat full time, but because if you’re building tools for truck drivers, you should actually know what the job feels like.

Massive thanks to Ash Anderson Truck Instructor at Dynamic Truck School for putting him through it. Proper training, solid gear, and yeah, a bloody good time doing it too.

If you’ve ever thought, “these software people have no idea what it’s really like driving trucks”, this is us making sure we do.

When a serious safety incident occurs, both the NHVR and state WorkSafe regulators are now routinely testing whether company officers have exercised due diligence, not just whether the business had policies on paper.

The Melbourne Cup in Numbers 🏇📊
You don’t have to watch horse racing to appreciate the physics.

Here’s an estimation of what actually happens down that 3.2 km stretch at Flemington:

24 horses on the track

~500 kg each → about 12 tonnes of moving mass

4 hooves each → 96 hooves hammering the ground

Volume of the field: roughly 12 cubic metres (a third of a 20-foot container)

Peak output per horse: around 12–15 horsepower, averaging 10 hp over the race

Field total: ~300–360 horsepower in motion

Mechanical energy: ~36 megajoules over the run

Actual energy burned: closer to 140 MJ, once you count muscle efficiency losses

Time: just over 3 minutes

Top speed: around 60–65 km/h (16–18 metres per second) as they hit the final straight

Sound level at the finish line: about 95–100 dB — similar to standing near a passing semi-trailer

Twelve tonnes of biological engines, turning hay and oats into motion, roaring past at 60 km/h.
