The 4YO mare was impressive first up, jumping to the front and leading all the way over 1000m. Second up, Nakita Riordan retains the ride and her 3kg allowance will certainly help. From barrier 5 she should be able to lead again and hopefully dictate terms. Desert Whisper's record on soft tracks is 7 starts for 3 wins and 3 seconds and over the track and distance she has had 3 starts for a win and a second. She races well over the distance, having won 7 of her 17 starts over 1000m with 4 seconds and 3 thirds. Desert Whisper is currently $2.35 and looks hard to beat today. 2026 TIPR AFL & NRL Competition
A reminder to get your Flexi-point tips in for this week's rounds of AFL and NRL matches. Round 12 of the AFL season kicks off with St Kilda hosting Hawthorn at Marvel Stadium. The Hawks welcome back Jack Gunston and Will Day and are $1.36 favourites. If you like the Saints to cause an upset, they are currently paying $3.19.
Round 13 of the NRL season commences Friday night with the Cronulla Sharks hosting Manly Sea Eagles. The Sea Eagles are fourth on the ladder and are paying $2.00, with the Sharks slight favourites at $1.84 with home ground advantage. There are always upsets in rounds close to Origin matches, so it will be interesting to see how the Tipsters play their Flexi tips this week.

Steps up 200m today and will be racing on a heavy track, which should suit this 4YO gelding. Last time he raced on a heavy track he demolished the opposition by 6.8L at Te Aroha in a 3YO maiden. Tyler Schiller takes the ride today and from a low draw, should have the horse in striking distance. Watch out if he gets clear running down the straight! 2026 TIPR AFL & NRL Tipping Competition Update
We have a new overall leader in the AFL competition, with MarkMaster surging to the front with 1,713 Flexi-points. Four of the top seven Tipsters got zero this round, after some upsets that would have stunned some of the leading division. Dingleburgh won the weekly prize with 280 Flexi-points.
In the NRL competition Evelyn remains in the overall lead with 1,737 Flexi-points, despite receiving zero for the round. Pete was the weekly winner with 225 Flexi-points.

THE BIG WINNERS
A Tipster who loves to plonk a roughie, is jdonks. On 16 May he tipped Ghetto Superstar in Race 9 at Flemington at $35. Wearing number 13 and jumping from barrier 13 would seem unlucky to some, but if you backed the 6YO gelding at those odds you'd be laughing all the way to the bank! It was a nice win, finding the middle of the track and storming home with a well timed run. Well done, jdonks!
