How "vibe coding" uncovered $50k in hidden payroll gaps — in a few hours

"Vibe coding" — rapidly stitching together apps with AI assistance, no formal dev cycle — turns out to be a surprisingly powerful tool for spotting operational leaks.
We built a read-only dashboard that pulls from three systems we already use: Asana for project work, Xero for payroll, and Bindle for leave. Stack the data side by side and discrepancies jump out — days where someone was marked away in Asana but never landed in payroll.

Across our team, that pattern showed up roughly five times per person, per year. At 20 staff and a $500 day rate, that's about $50k a year quietly slipping through the cracks. Even halve that figure for margin of error and it's still a serious number for a few hours of work. - (Yes, we have too much trust 🙄)

The "read-only" bit matters. Nothing writes back to Xero or Asana, so there's no risk of corrupting the source of truth — we're just surfacing what's already there. That's what makes vibe coding viable for ops use cases that would normally need a proper integration project: low stakes, fast feedback, real dollars found.

If your team uses more than two SaaS tools, odds are there's a similar gap hiding in yours.

If you’re interested in learning more about AI and how it can support your business, I’ve put together a two-hour workshop designed to bring people up to speed on where AI stands today. I cover the fundamentals, then share practical demos showing how you can start using AI productively right away. - I call it the AI FOMO Catch Up

Spent the weekend vibe coding.

My mind is still blown at what I can do now. But I actually spent most of the time fixing the issues it created.
If I didn't have a development background it would be a different story,

It's a bit like working alongside the world's smartest brain surgeon — except that brain surgeon is a 10-year-old kid who only follows your literal instructions and who keeps forgetting what he did two hours ago and sometimes breaking things which were working before.

If you can stop him forgetting and are able to work with through each step, you can pull off a successful operation. But you're going to have to know how to resuscitate a lot of patients along the way. And you have to be genuinely good at knowing which questions to ask and not be scared by the site of blood.

Not quite ready for unsupervised surgery yet but when it works it's off the charts amazing and only getting better.

Claude Co-work is still not available on Windows ARM processors.

It obviously works on Mac and on Windows Intel processors.

Given all of the hullabaloo about how Anthropic doesn't write any code and it's all written by AI, surely they could have wrapped this up in days not months?

So I decided to ask Claude itself what the issue was but the answer is just as confusing.

Is it a plot just to sell more Mac Minis?

Interesting image creation comparison between Gemini Pro, ChatGPT and Claude.

I just needed to create a HubSpot image for our website. Given that I was working with Gemini and it has nano banana, I thought that would be my best bet.

No matter what I did, Gem and I kept coming up with makeup labels that made no sense and weren't even in English.
I was curious what Chlord would do and though the labels make a lot of sense, the whole picture turned into a big mess.
Interestingly ChatGPT pretty much nailed it.

We're currently building two Enterprise websites on HubSpot Content Hub that will genuinely surprise you.
Not standard marketing sites. Complex, high-performing experiences that most people assume need a completely different tech stack.

Here's the thing — when you combine HubSpot CMS with Marketing Hub and the CRM, you get an all-in-one solution that's hard to beat.
Most businesses aren't aware of how far the CMS has come, and every time we demo it, jaws drop.
We want to change that.

If you're already using HubSpot for marketing or your CRM but haven't looked at Content Hub, that's the conversation we want to have.
DM us for a no-obligation demo — we'll show you what's possible.

I can't wait to show everyone the case studies after they're done!

Ever wonder how tough it is to run a business—even with all the right ingredients? Just look at Peloton.

Life isn't always fair and business is tough - With Apple-level design, a passionate community, and standout instructors, Peloton seemed unstoppable. The instructors have become celebrities in their own right. When you meet another Peloton person, the first question always is "Who is your favourite instructor?"
FYI: (If you know, you know)
Cycling - Bradley Rose
Bootcamp - Tunde Oyeneyin
Strength - Andy Speer
Stretch Hannah Corbin
Core - Emma Lovewell

Yet, despite their innovative products and loyal user base, their journey has been anything but smooth. From a high of US $167.42 per share in January 2021 to just $7.82 now, Peloton’s story proves that even industry leaders face real-world challenges.

For me, the experience is personal—I’m about to complete my 1,000th Peloton (I'm at 998) workout, spanning bike rides, boot camps, and stretch classes. After all these sessions, I’m still excited to jump on the bike and compete with fitness fans worldwide. Love the community vibe.

A quick stat: In Q3 FY25, Peloton maintained around 2.88 million paid Connected Fitness subscribers. Whether you’re using just the app (USD $12.99/month) or unlocking the full experience with the Bike or Tread (US $44/month), that sounds like a pretty healthy number - pun intended :-)

In some ways it's comforting to know that even great companies like Peloton struggle as it's a daily reminder that success is not a given even when you do the right things but you still need to get back on your bike and keep peddling anyway.

Consistency, innovation, and community make a difference—not just for Peloton, but for any business.

How do you keep yourself, your team or customers engaged through ups and downs?

OpenAI’s unveiled its new ChatGPT browser app Atlas —exclusively for Mac users. So why is it Mac-only? It’s likely about safe experimentation: macOS’s strong security features give OpenAI more control as they test this new frontier in AI-powered browsing. It's either that or they know that Mac Users don't do real work so the risk is lower - Just kidding - or am I? Yes kidding. Maybe

While Microsoft and Google shape the world’s browsing infrastructure, they’re being cautious—understandably. For them, one AI misstep could impact entire enterprises. OpenAI, not bound by legacy systems, is free to shake things up and take calculated risks.

Microsoft (Edge) and Google (Chrome) can't afford to move this fast.
Their browsers power corporate infrastructure globally – one AI hallucination affecting enterprise data could be catastrophic.

Heavy security warnings aren’t just legalese—they’re a reminder this is uncharted territory. OpenAI’s approach: move fast, innovate boldly, and let users pilot the future. Is it a peek at the next era of web browsing, or just hype wrapped in a fresh UI?

Don't get me wrong, if the ChatGPT browser was available for PC, I would be giving it a go. I already love the Perplexity Comet browser and this new browser war is going to create some amazing new innovations.
