As a young girl Brooke Hill dreamed of becoming a writer and would fill boxes with her own fairytale stories. They say that when you write things down they manifest themselves, so… fast forward to today, and Brooke has done just as she dreamed! She has been in the hot seat in both Australia and London writing copy for the last 20 years, and has worked with some of Australia’s (and the worlds!) leading brands!

These include: The Australian Women’s Weekly, Harpers Bazaar, Procter & Gamble brands Valentino & Gucci fragrances, SK-II, Herbal Essences and Aussie haircare… just to name a few!

Font LOVE!!!

🧐DID YOU KNOW?!

Although fonts have been around for hundreds of years (in the form of stamps and printing presses), the digital font can be attributed to the works of Steve Jobs.

In college, Steve attended a calligraphy class by chance. It was here where he learnt the charm of serif and sans-serif typefaces and quote ‘what makes great typography great’.

It wasn’t until 10 years later when Apple were designing the first Macintosh computer that this passion for typography came to life. Steve worked with the Design team and oversaw each detail of every colour, shape, size and icon. The Mac launched in 1984 with 9 city-named fonts available in plain, bold, italic, bold italic, underline, outline and shadowed - revolutionising type technology.

To all the mamas and papas out there sending their kids back to school today! Congratulations! We did it! 🍾

Like every other working parent who has been juggling a number of roles these last few months I am totally exhausted buuut not completely broken and am SO VERY ready to get the gears back in motion now I don't need to also be a teacher, as well as a mum AND business owner all at the same time.

Goodluck to all the remaining students returning to face to face learning today… and yes parents, this means homeschooling is OVER!!! Time to catch a breath and some well-deserved alone time!! (I can hear the collective sigh of relief).

When you’re starting out as a small business, branding can feel a little like the thing you need to work towards. That, when you’ve earned a certain amount of money or, when you have a certain number of clients, then you’ll be able to treat yourself to some branding. ⁠

Well, I’m sorry to say, this shouldn’t be how it’s done.⁠

Branding should not be seen as the thing you work towards over time. Branding is the foundation for your business, and when you’ve established quality, consistent branding, everything you do will naturally flow from there. ⁠
