Lifted lightly above the ground, the simple rectilinear form nods to nearby farm buildings while protecting the fragile landscape beneath.

Within just 150sqm, the home fits generous living, lofted bedrooms and outdoor spaces, all pivoting around a central double-sided fireplace • the heart of the house, like a campfire binding daily life together.

CLOUD STREET by • a large family home that sits quietly within its inner-suburban neighbourhood.

Designed to feel modest and recessive, it blends into the street while still engaging openly with it through an unfenced, landscaped front yard.

Inside, the house unfolds as a series of fluid spaces arranged around a north-facing courtyard, allowing family life to expand and contract over time.

Angled walls, sloped ceilings and carefully shaped rooms create a sense of movement and surprise without feeling overworked.

Built as “background architecture,” Cloud Street balances comfort, sustainability and community, with thoughtful shading, natural ventilation and a rammed earth spine grounding the home in both place and purpose.

Q HOUSE by • set on the foreshore of Jervis Bay, Q House is a coastal retreat designed for a young family to slow down, reconnect and live with the landscape.

The solid form offers protection from harsh coastal weather, while expansive glazing allows the home to open fully to the ocean when conditions soften.

Arranged across three subtly stepped levels, the house rises from street entry through private spaces to an open living and entertaining zone facing the bay.

This gradual shift echoes the experience of moving across sand dunes, culminating in wide, uninterrupted views.

A robust palette of Australian hardwood, copper, concrete masonry and matte black aluminium responds to the marine environment, creating a home that feels grounded, protective and deeply connected to its coastal setting.

NORTHCOTE HACIENDA by • a double-fronted Victorian in Northcote is reimagined as a three-level family home shaped around a generous central courtyard.

The original layout is partly retained, while a new concrete-block wing introduces a more fluid, contemporary way of living.

Inspired by Mediterranean homes and gardens, the extension moves away from rigid Victorian geometry.

Curved walls, arched openings and a sculptural stair create moments of surprise as the house unfolds, wrapping the garden and courtyard at its core.

Bold colour, varied stone selections and carefully placed openings give each space its own character, creating a home that feels both playful and quietly reflective.
