Our wonderful Datcom family/ team in Bangalore celebrating Diwali last week šš§”ššš
The story of Diwali traces back to ancient India and holds profound historical significance, deeply rooted in mythology and Hindu tradition. One of the most famous tales associated with Diwali is the story of Lord Rama, an incarnation of the god Vishnu, and his victory over the demon king Ravana.
According to the *Ramayana*, an ancient Indian epic, Lord Rama was a virtuous prince and the rightful heir to the throne of Ayodhya. However, due to a promise made by his father, King Dasharatha, Rama was sent into exile for 14 years, accompanied by his devoted wife, Sita, and his loyal brother, Lakshmana. During their time in the forest, the demon king Ravana, ruler of Lanka, abducted Sita, leading to an epic battle.
With the aid of the devoted Hanuman and a vast army of monkeys, Rama waged war against Ravana in Lanka. After a fierce and legendary battle, he finally defeated Ravana, symbolising the triumph of good over evil. Following this victory, Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana returned to Ayodhya. The people of Ayodhya, overjoyed at their return, lit earthen lamps to welcome them, signifying the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.
Since then, Diwali has been celebrated with lights, fireworks, and decorations, epitomising joy, prosperity, and the dispelling of darkness, just as the people of Ayodhya once did to celebrate their king's homecoming.
We wish everyone a happy, healthy, and peaceful Diwali!
