Ryan’s pathway into the industry was steered by his degree in Mechatronic and Mechanical Engineering. He built a diverse foundation with a year of experience in steel manufacturing and two years in the building automation sector before making the move to Ti2 Group. Attracted by the complexities of industrial and process automation applications, he now focuses on control system engineering, including PLC control with motion and pneumatic applications, as well as cutting-edge robot and cobot installations.

Ti2 Showcases Future-Ready Automation at IICA Newcastle

Last week, Ti2 joined industry leaders at the IICA Newcastle Technology Expo at the Newcastle Showground. As a long-standing partner of the IICA, we were proud to contribute to the "hands-on" spirit of the 2026 expo by hosting live, working demonstrations of real-world automation running in real time.

Our experts spent the day engaging with engineers and decision-makers, offering live insights into how modular architecture and secure connectivity can transform modern industrial systems. We highlighted our commitment to brand-agnostic solutions, focusing on how businesses can increase reliability without being locked into a single supplier.

Visitors had the chance to interact with our latest kit and see how we integrate world-class partner products into seamless, high-performance systems:
▪️FESTO Voice-Controlled Automation: We demonstrated intuitive human-machine interaction using a top-down architecture. This featured FESTO PLCs managing high-performance motion over EtherCAT, integrated with LLM-powered speech translation and live visualisation via the CODESYS Automation Server.
▪️CODESYS EtherCAT Servo Control: Showcasing a vendor-independent environment, we utilised a Berghof Panel Pi as a central OPC UA hub. This setup proved the power of interoperability, coordinating distributed control across Berghof Pi-PLC, WAGO, and Wecon components for precision twin-servo control.

Whether it is improving predictive maintenance through mobile field device configuration or scaling up with CODESYS-based controllers, Ti2 remains dedicated to delivering performance-driven engineering solutions that move beyond theory and into practical application.
