Important advice for local spectators…
The Santos Tour Down Under has provided the following information for spectators and fans ahead of the forecast hot conditions for Friday’s Ziptrak Stage 3 from Henley Beach to Nairne:
1️⃣ All spectators are strongly encouraged to remain hydrated, including drinking plenty of water, and remaining sun smart by following the Cancer Council’s five-step ‘Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek and Slide’ guidelines.
2️⃣ Monitor emergency services communications and follow all advice of the Country Fire Service, South Australian Police and TDU officials.
3️⃣ Help us reduce the risk of fires by avoiding driving or parking in long, dry grass or on road verges. Hot cars in dry grass can cause a fire, which has a high chance of getting out of control in this weekend’s predicted hot and windy weather. If parking is necessary, it should only be done in cleared areas such as paved or gravel roads where the grass is not dry or long.
4️⃣ Outdoor barbecues should not be used along the TDU route and we remind you that our event is non-smoking.
