Most compression driver speakers hotspot on axis. The Firefly eliminates the direct path between driver and listener entirely, routing sound through a proprietary waveguide that broadens dispersion and smooths response. Elementi takes a very different approach to amplification compared to most cinema solution systems...and it’s a major reason the systems perform the way they do.

Elementi is a fully active DSP speaker platform.

Each speaker is paired to its own dedicated amplifier channel, with the crossover handled digitally inside the amplifier rather than through passive components inside the speaker itself.

In simple terms: the amplifier and speaker are engineered as one complete system.

The benefits?

🔈 More accurate DSP optimisation and calibration

Each amplifier powers a single speaker only, allowing every channel to be individually tuned without compromise.

Another key difference is amplifier placement.

Rather than housing amplifiers 15–30m away in a separate rack room, Elementi amplifiers are designed specifically for in-room use. This allows speaker cable runs to remain extremely short reducing signal loss, resistance and impedance interaction between the amplifier and loudspeaker.

Instead, longer runs are handled via balanced XLR or Dante network audio connections, maintaining excellent signal integrity while keeping the high-current speaker path as short as possible.

It’s the same philosophy used in many high-end 2-channel systems: keep the amplification close to the speaker.

Of course, in-room amplification only works if it’s quiet.

That’s why all actively cooled Elementi amplifiers utilise ultra-low-noise fan systems designed specifically for cinema environments — keeping thermal performance stable without pulling you out of the movie experience.
