For about six weeks we've been working on a pick-and-place machine, built from scratch, and it's finally at a point where we can do some movement calibration tests!

Eventually, this machine will build our more complex electronics prototypes but for now, it's just fun to play with!

Taking a brief break from our usual updates on PCB design to spotlight another core area of expertise: digital signal processing.

Mining ventilation shaft imaging company PipeCam approached us with a unique challenge: stabilising rotating video footage captured by a camera suspended by hundreds of meters of cable.

Drawing upon our deep knowledge of scientific computing, we devised a cutting-edge video post-processing software utility. This software stabilises motion, even in the presence of significant visual noise, by discerning between motion caused by the moving camera and other sources such as falling dust particles.

We recently completed another engineering project for the University of Newcastle, creating a robotics development platform for teaching embedded systems development with electromechanical devices and sensors.

This project centered around a Raspberry Pi Pico W microcontroller and the PCB serves as a hands-on learning environment where students can dive deep into the world of embedded programming without the frustration of hardware debugging.
