Before the logo, there’s a question.
Before any colour palette, there’s (many) a conversation.
Before it looks like anything, there’s a moment - sometimes a little confronting - where the truth of a brand becomes clear.

In thirty-odd years of doing this (eighteen as our own brand) - that moment is almost never found in a brief.

It’s the thing the founder almost doesn’t say. That gut instinct they’re talking themselves out of. The story (and magic) sitting just below the surface, waiting for someone to ask the right question and take it seriously.

That’s the strategy.
The thinking.
The listening.

It feels big. Somehow though, still feels like the beginning.

Krush was born the year our last baby arrived.
Proofs beside coffee cups and a baby bouncer - late nights stitched together with purpose and possibility (and the incoming sport & school fees).

Working from home amongst our sport, music, and art-loving six little people made for tightly bound schedules (which I miss and would absolutely do again in a heartbeat).

What began as design became devotion - a study in meaning, message, and the moments that shape who we become.

The work has evolved, just as the business has.
We’ve grown (sometimes in the wrong direction) and shrunk back to where we feel grounded and purposeful.
From print to digital.
From logos to legacies.
From quick turnarounds to intentional transformations.

This milestone isn’t about the number. It’s about endurance. Showing up when it would’ve been easier to stop. Creating something meaningful, even when no one’s watching.

The baby is now a grown up, studying and working away at the beach. Some of those six little pairs of hands that pulled us in all directions now have their own babies 🥹

It’s a full arc.
Eighteen years of clarity mixed with chaos and craft. Of building brands that move people - not just the markets they operate in.

The next chapter feels very certain.
Less. Quieter, but surer. Entirely Krush.

Hike to Heal Australia is a finalist in the 2023 Queensland Mental Health Week Achievement Awards, in the Jude Bugeja - Peer Experience Award category 🧡

This category acknowledges those who, through personal experience with mental illness, have made a significant impact on the well-being of individuals with mental illness and their families or caregivers. These awards are a vital component of Queensland Mental Health Week, celebrating the efforts of individuals, groups, and organizations dedicated to reducing stigma and empowering those affected by mental illness.

The winners of each category will be announced at the Awards Breakfast Ceremony on Friday 13 October at Victoria Park, Herston.

Back in 2010 we had the absolute joy of working with the West Wanderers Football Club Inc. to revamp their logo… 13yrs on it still looks amazing, and has the adaptability to be used across all of their brand touch points from apparel, to signage, promotional items, trophies and their playing kits.

We absolutely love watching brands evolve, and really take ownership of their graphics suite. WWFC have taken their brand to a whole new level and we are so proud to have been the little spark at the beginning.

When it comes to building a brand, we don’t do trends… trends don’t result in a timeless, enduring or unique mark for your business.
