Random pop-ups on your Android phone are not normal.

If your phone keeps showing ads, fake virus warnings, “cleaner” alerts, or pop-ups when you are not even using a browser, something dodgy may have snuck in.

Common causes are:
• a bad app
• browser notification spam
• fake cleaner/security apps
• websites you accidentally allowed to send notifications

Do not tap the warning.
Do not install the app it recommends.
Do not call any number shown on-screen.
